How can i adjust the settings to make it use-able? I've tried messing with the settings in the soundblaster software but it still sounds very fuzzy/underwater like.

Control Panel --> Sound --> Recording tab --> Select "microphone" while making sure no external mic is plugged in

Hit the "Configure" button --> Set up microphone

After you've done that, go back to the Recording tab from above, select microphone but hit the "Properties" button instead. Go to the "Enhancements" tab and play around with the sound effect settings and see if any of them help.

But yeah the built-in mic is pretty bad.
