Hi, does anyone know how to turn up the outbound of the microphone on the np 5790? In my realtek hd audio manager I dont see anywhere to turn up the volume on the microphone. Is there any other software I need to install or something? Thanks!

Personally, my Realtek mixer doesn't provide me any control over the Microphone's volume. I use the Windows Volume Control, when I want to hear the Microphone's feedback. The Volume Control icon should be in the system tray by the clock. If it isn't, go to Sound and Audio Devices in the Control Panel and make sure that "Place volume control in the taskbar" item is checked. From that same window you should also be able to click the Advanced button to bring up the Volume Control.

Once you get the Windows Volume Control open, if you don't already see Microphone in the list of mixers to adjust, click the Options menu and choose Properties. Make sure Playback is dotted, then look at the bottom at the list labeled "Show the following volume controls:" Look for Microphone, check the box beside it, and click OK. You should go back to the mixer list and Microphone should show up there as an adjustable slider. Turn the volume up there to your desired level. You should also be able to combine that with the Master Volume control on that window and the equalizer settings in the Realtek software to make the Microphone's feedback much, much louder.

If you also want to increase the pick up of the Mic, you can do that from the Volume Control as well. Click Options and Properties again, then dot the Recording radio button, then make sure Microphone is checked in the list at the bottom there as well, then click OK and adjust the volume slider for the Microphone there. Sometimes making the pick up more sensitive can help the Mic output be louder as well. I hppe that this can be of some use to you.
