I'm curious, I've found alot of informatino about the Clevo M570RU with Santa Rosa.
But I'm wondering if Clevo would refresh the M570U with Santa Rosa + DX10 GPU?
I have a feeling they might since it's their best selling model, but does anyone here have any better idea if they will/wont/might?

It's unlikely, once the m570ru is out, the m570 u will probably just disappear.
-
ahhh thanks :s
I guess I might get used to the Clevo M570RU's looks... -
I highly doubt this is accurate..even with the release of the new m570ru, the m570u will be around for quite awhile..it's still a cutting edge laptop and has been their best seller ever since its release..
While the M570RU may be nice, it would make no sense for a company to abruptly pull their best seller for an undoubtably over-priced new release model. Now..2 years from now? Perhaps a different story, but look for the Clevo M570U to be around for awhile yet. -
exactly right.
The Clevo M570U will not be replaced by the M570RU, they have entirely different features and looks... as well as the M570U is the best seller.
When the M570RU does come out, the premium pricing for it might deter some people looking for a gaming notebook thats on a tight budget. -
o thanks for that info Gophn, I just wish there was some confirmation if it was getting Santa Rosa/DX-10/Robson or not :/ I'd love to buy it now with the $300 discount but I'd wait for Santa Rosa if it was going to get it :s
-
It would require a motherboard change, so I highly doubt that's feasible for Clevo. If they make a Santa Rose model, it will be a new model. My best guess.
-
hm..that is true...
I've yet to see a notebook that isn't changing models in order to be equiped with Santa Rosa.....
Hm...now I'm soo close to pulling the trigger on a 5760 :s -
If you want the nicest 17" for the $2000 mark, the M570U will exceed your expectations. I recommend getting the WSXGA+ unless you're used to 1920x1200. It also saves some money. If you don't care about a transferable warranty go with http://www.rjtech.com and get a great price and it ships faster. You can even get just the barebones and parts and have it ship same/next day. Installing on this model is easier than a desktop imho. You can save a few dollars buy getting some of RJTech's parts such as the harddrive and memory elsewhere, and his business is great. Otherwise I recommend http://www.xvxonline.com or direct from Sager.
You can successfully configure a $1950 M570U notebook with the highest end (new CAS4 is out too) CAS5 DDR2 667 RAM 2GB, 100GB 7200RPM Seagate/Hitachi HD, wireless, etc. Great deal, go for it!
I highly recommend getting the Core 2 Duo T7200. Best price on it now, and it has 4MB of L2 cache over the T5xxx ones. -
Wow thanks zodttd, I just checked up xvxonline the price is a little bit higher than xoticpc's but their dead pixel policy is 1 in center or 2 anywhere else.
I'll haveta check out xoticpc's before I make my decision. -
If you are going for a reseller like this, go for what's cheapest for the best parts, weighed by what the warranty offers. You might be able to get a better warranty with xvxonline for free as they had a 3 year warranty included just a few days ago. Just chat with them via their Live Chat during configuration. Warranty/Dead Pixel policy is something you can deal on with them for this model I imagine. Worth a try.

Yea, did you buy from xvxonline? I'm curious if they use AS5 or not.
-
I was going to but found a auction site deal instead. They did offer great deals via their Live Chat. Their support was top notch.
Might Clevo M570U get Santa rosa?
