I did a lot of research into laptop backpacks, and I'm not a huge fan of bulky or round backpacks, even though they probably provide superior protection. I wanted something flatter, rectangular, and more low key. However, Most laptop backpacks of this form would not fit the P750DM (15.6") in their dedicated laptop conpartment. There is one for cheap called the bronze times laptop backpack on Amazon, but I was worried about the build quality. So I picked up a really nice Chrome Bravo 2.0 Night Edition for carrying my P750DM around, since I live I an area with lots of hiking and weather, I could use it for other purposes as well (even if it isn't so low key).

Problem is, this backpack has no laptop compartment, so I'm looking for just a minimalist protective sleeve that would fit so I could put it in the backpack with the sleeve.

    Anyone know of one?

im using Crumpler The Gumb Bush (Size L) for my P751ZM (identical dimensions to your machine), fits like a glove, looks great, is affordable and also has a shoulder strap and two side compartments if u ever want to put a mouse, psu or other stuff in it :)

I had a really nice Belkin one (I believe it was Belkin, it fit great and the zippers were 10/10, it was just amazingly built), but I couldn't find it in my house & couldn't find it online anymore so that wasn't an option for me. I went with this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsonite-Aramon-15-6-Laptop-Shuttle/dp/B004YZD0KY

It fits great, seems really durable, and overall gets the job done.

I ended up returning the chrome backpack, it was just too much. so now I'm looking for a minimalist sleeve with a shoulder strap.

Does this fit the laptop without strangling it? I'm worried about too tight a fit where there will be pressure placed on the casing from the constriction. Also, how do you carry the power brick and cord?

I dunno, it's a fabric, I highly doubt it's going to do any damage. It hasn't done any in the 6 months I've used it. I carry the power brick and cord in my backpack, along with the sleeve that I put in my backpack. That way, my laptop is twice as safe.
