My dad has got my old P377SM-A but the wifi network card doesn't support miracast/DLNA.

It is a Intel 7260 AC and back in the day these used to be great wifi network cards even without support for Intel WiDi.

anyone knows a good gadget that would allow this laptop to connect via DLNA to a TV?

I mean, one that basically lets you view what's going on in the screen of the laptop via wifi to the TV? He has a new 4k tv

    I'd like to avoid cables

I have used miracast to connect to my TV and found the lag terrible, and gave up on wireless. Either I use HDMI or chomecast for video.

Does chromecast allow any program to connect to the tv?

    Thanks for the reply

Yes you can cast desktop with chromecast, but I stil get the same lag which makes it annoying. With chromecast you can get higher refresh rate at 60 instead of 30 with miracast. Also if you opt for chromecast Ultra you can get can get 4k resolution instead of 1080p. Best solution is still wired for lag free desktop use.....but chromecast works great for streaming local video or online video.
