Hi,
Is it true the mobile version is not available in SLI?

Yes, nvlink has no mobile connector.

Wonder if Clevo and other brands are working on one? Can't seem to find any info regarding it ... or is SLI for mobiles dead?

SLI is supposed to be superseded by NVLink, neither of which are showing up on the current Clevo refresh. Down the road, who knows...

From what I understand building a NVLink interface into a MXM card - even the larger form factor cards, is incredibly challenging. There are 3-4x more traces that have to be routed compared to a traditional SLI connector and those paths have extremely strict layout restrictions - otherwise you won't get the bandwidth needed. This is one of the reasons why a lot of the RTX desktop cards have their dies located much closer to the NVlink fingers when compared to cards that only support SLI. Cramming NVlink onto an MXM card would be a challenge. Cramming NVlink onto an MXM card while adhering to the layout restrictions is exceedingly challenging - might be impossible. . .
My guess is, if it is possible, it will eventually come out. Might not be this generation though.joluke, bennyg, jaybee83 and 1 other person like this. -
Desktop nvlink is also a hard bridge connector isn't it? I'm surprised there isn't even a dual 2070 or dual 2080 done BGA where the traces are contained in the motherboard pcb

2070 doesn't support NvLink, but if anyone does BGA 2080 NvLink I'm putting my money on Aorus or Asus. -

Dual core PCB would be stupidly expensive and only usable in one machine.
