I wonder what core the mobile 9600GT is using. I would very happy to see it based around the 9600GT Desktop core, but with cut down SP's and a 128bit bus to keep heat down. The 9600GT is a great card for mid range mild gaming. Anyone else have any solid details? I looking hard at the new PowerPro P 12:15 notebook with the 9600GT and GDDR3 when they launch it.

The rebranded 8600M GT is the 9500M GS. The 9600M GT is a G96. G96 is the desktop 9500GT. The 9600M GT GDDR3 should perform like the 8700M GT, but cooler and consumes less (and thus can be more OCed).

Not bad. The 9500GT was getting around 5K in 06. That's not bad at all. This means its on a 55nm node, and the core,SP's,GDDR3 should O/C very nicely. I think I just found my new notebook. Pair it with a 64GB OCZ Core SSD, and XP Pro with SP3, you will have one mean machine. ;)

Do you think you can play some graphic intensive games on decent settings with a 9600m GT DDR3?

If the 9600m GT GDDR3 card performs close to a 8700m GT, then what would the 9700m GTS GDDR3 card be comparable to, the 8800m GTS?

No nvidia mobile solutions are 55nm yet. The only desktop 55nm card is the 9800 gtx +

No, the 9800m gts will be like the 8800m gts. 9700m gts should fall between that and 8700.
