What are the odds the gpus will fit in my sli laptop and that the bios will accept them?

It's still too early to tell, they haven't announced anything on new graphics cards yet. You won't find anything out until NDAs are released, and probably more so until the card is fully available.

Hopefully, they would use the same MXM cards. As for the BIOS, you might not get an answer on that until new GPUs are released, or close to release.

The BIOS won't be a problem. Modded drivers maybe but the P377SM-A is fully MXM compliant, it will POST with a card that it doesn't recognize (when I got my 980Ms, Sager didn't flash the sBIOS and my cards showed unknown until I flashed the update and they worked fine plus my system actually booted - albeit with a black screen due to my 120hz screen - with a 2008 Dell 260M GTX) unlike the EM, HM, etc.

You really shouldn't be breaking the NDA...

This phrase doesn't make it sound like it might be something coming out soon though:

"We were told it is a concept machine and thus they are still in the process of making it even more powerful."

But... that benchmark is pretty high, so hopefully someday we'll get to see what is in the works, or similar configurations from other companies.

Computex 2016 for Polaris and Pascal mobile IMO, Asus wouldn't have released a teaser like that if they don't plan on revealing more in the short term.

I hope we will not have to wait a lot for Pascal Mobile :). I believe early fall (October) we will be able to order a 1080M powered laptop.

Revealing more? Possibly. I'd agree with that.

But when it might be production ready and available for purchase is another story. Look at the GX700, which is still not available in the US.

Well to be honest I don't care about those bulky Asus laptops that look like a B2 bomber, I believe MSI, Gigabyte/Aorus Time to market is way more satisfying compared to that of DELL or ASUS, Thing is everyone is under NDA regarding pascal mobile and I hope it will be over by the time computex starts :).

The 1080 desktop numbers do give you a rough ballpark in terms of power/FPS ratio at least.

Nothing has been announced yet, so it is all rumors at this point. Just going to have to wait to see what is released though.

Just because Nvidia hasn't released reference MXM specs to ODMs doesn't mean that we won't see MXM boards. The question is if we will see them come from Clevo or not.

From a market point of view and not from my NDA restricted POV, there's no logical reason why the next gen wouldn't be available in both formats ;-)

No insiders clearly point out 2 designs :
    - M "mobility" series
    - Shrunk down desktop pascal GPU (supposed to be released first )

Let's see the bright side, thanks to 14/16nm FinFet and tons of other improvements they're able to squeeze a desktop card now in a "not so bulky" laptop (Aorus, GT73 etc.)
Will mobility card die ? Maybe with Volta probably, but hey, it means that they will reach all laptop markets (ultrabook, gaming, multimedia...) with desktop cards , so less compromise :).

I prefer for now having a 1080M card, a 1080 would require a heavier thermal management system, and I'd prefer having a normal sized gaming laptop like the Clevo P650SG or the MSI GS60 serie :)

I'll point out the TDP of the desktop 980 to the 1080 actually went up.

The wait is killing me and i'm hoping the 1080m's run even cooler than 980m's :)

Have you had a look at the desktop card numbers? Lots of interesting stuff you can read to get to know what future chips may be like.

GPU Boost 3 has been pretty aggressive in pushing the limits of the desktop cards. Of course the desktop cards can go pretty wild when strapped with an 900W VRM system.
