I can't seem to find much info on overvolting the 7970M in my P150em. I'm sure I'm just missing it somewhere. Are there any issues with doing it on these machines? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any general thoughts/tips on upping the voltage on my 7970M would be much appreciated.

I should note, I'm pretty experienced with computers/overclock/VBIOS/etc. etc., but this will be the first time I'm venturing into voltage mod territory on a mobile card. So any tips/links/guides on mobile voltage modding is always helpful as well.

alienware and HM series owners have been able to, but nobody has been able to do it on machines with switchable graphics that can't be disabled.

nope, aint gonna work, since by flashing back to enduro vbios ud also revert back to the stock voltage as part of the vbios package...

So just to makes sure: Currently, the only way to up the voltage on a 7970M in a P150EM is to flash it on another notebook that can read the vbios? Are there any other options that anybody knows of?

Worth a try as a free download I suppose, it's really annoying that something is just designed wrong and blocking ATIFLASH.

Hey jaybee. Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I recently swapped my 7970m to a 680m in my p150em and gave the AMD card to my brother for his p150hm. I flashed the vbios for it and installed it no worries - thanks for the guide btw :).

Anyway I want to put the card back into my p150em for s*its and giggles and was wondering if you or anyone on this forum has the stock vbios for the 7970m in a p150em by chance..?

So long as you can flash a bios this will work as there is nothing particularly special about voltage modified bios files.

Finally the opportunity is here, to flash our 7970m with the Clevo P series, and then it's easier to dig up the holy grail than finding an modded vbios that work :-/

This is definitely good news looks like us EM owners with 7970's can breathe new life into our machines, this is probably a dumb question but does this also mean we can flash vbios's that would allow us to upgrade to 780m/8970m GPU's?

not all that hot actually :) on my max. clocks im reaching 82C after 20min. of kombustor, in games im usually in the 60s, sometimes 70s.
then again,im repasting and cleaning out the innards of my machine on a regular basis and prop up the back with two bottle caps, helps immensely with keeping it up n running in a cool manner ;)
