Hey all im literally about 2 days away from ordering my NP9261 from xoticpc.com. My specs are : Quad-core 2.66, 4gb RAM, 2x 200gb 7200rpm HDD in raid-0, dual nvidia 7950 gtx SLI enabled, and Vista ultimate 64bit. Now my question is if anyone can spot any problems with this setup before i go ahead and order it. thank you

The only thing I spot on that laptop that is that the 7950 isn't DX10. That isn't a bad thing though, because currently games don't utilize DX10 the way it should be. You'll love your laptop and the specs you have look great! You won't be disappointed with this laptop, it is truly the best laptop out there at the moment!

You can play DX10 games with the 7950, you just won't get the extra bells and whistles that DX10 offers (because it will only run at DX9). The big difference between the two vid cards is that the 8700GT offers DX10, but is has 128 bit memory interface where the 7950 has 256 bit memory interface. It all depends on what you want, because like I stated, DX10 isn't utilized to its full potential yet. I'm currently waiting for people to post their benchmarks for this laptop with the 2x 8700GT SLI, and will be making my decision then. I might also wait for the 8800 mobile version to come out before I buy it as well, it just depends on the benchmarks and if I'm really going to wait for the 8800 to come out because no one really knows when it will.

i really like the Cooler Master. Any idea where I can buy it? also how is it compared to the Zalman?

Another thing is any suggestions on a carrying case? I like messenger bags the best.

Nero, you will have the beasts of ALL beast lol
rite now i have it with just the 7950, Single!, and it rapes through Bioshock...
now, i did this becuz, 7950 is the strongest, but no dx10, and 8700 gives dx10, but its not the most powerful. If you want, do wat i did, and get ONE of watever the cheaper card is, then get SLI 8800s, wen they appear, cuz then you'll have the fastest card out, AND will have DX10... just a thought. Or if you have the money, just get dual 7950s now :p

The Cooler Master is still too new. And cannot be found most places at the moment.

The Zalman has proved itself to be one of the best coolers at the moment.

The Cooler Master seems to do the similar/same thing with a lower pricetag... but the reviews have not been enough to convince anyone yet.

I've read that while the Zalman is an extremely quiet fan, it doesn't do all that much cooling even at its highest speed. Just be aware.

Justin already posted some benchs with the 8700M GT (3dMark 06). It lags behind the Go 7950GTX by around 1000 points with a Quad Core config.
