    Hello everyone,

Im looking at replacing my old Clevo P180 model.

My biggest question is the monitors. Xotic offers the stock monitor, a 72% gamut matte monitor, and 90" glossy (reflective)

How drastic is the difference between the stock and the 72" gamut? My main use will be gaming, my photo editing etc will be on my desktop so im not too concerned in that area, is it that noticable? What is an estimated value of the gamut on the stock monitor?

I can't judge on the glossy or the stock, but I can say using a matte screen has been a tremendous reduction in eye strain for me.

If glare and reflections are not an issue the glossy screens tend to be favored for gaming since they are a little more vibrant and saturated.
I dont remember what the P180 used but they were averaging around 60% NTSC. You can use HWInfo to see the exact screen installed then look up that model.

Matt screens are just glossy with a coating, so glossy will always be clearer if reflections are not an issue.

Not sure if this is right. I can say for sure all my matte screens are not glossy with a coating. They make matte covers you can put over a glossy screen if you have one and dont like it. But a screen manufactured as matte isn't glossy underneath.

If you steam it you will find it's simply a diffusion layer over the glossy. Of course since it's applied at the factory it's a perfect application that normally does not show.

Glossy is a separate layer as well, the end monitor before either the glossy coat or the matte coat is, however, as you stated, the same.
