Got my NP9150 last week, and have it fully set up. I usually use CPUID's Hardware Monitor to monitor and bench mark temperatures for my CPU/GPU. I want to monitor temps for a week on low/high load and then change the thermal paste to see if there is a drop.
I have the 7970M in the NP9150. When I run HW Monitor under light load, no GPU is found in the monitoring tool. When run on high load (games), only the Intel HD 4000 is found.
I have checked to make sure the game I'm playing is set for High Performance in Catalyst Manager, and I am able to play on high video settings, so I'm assuming the 7970M is being utilized.
Is there another tool I can use? I have the latest version of HW Monitor, perhaps try a beta?

try HWInfo64
-
lots of monitors to chose in my sig below but as jay ^ posted try HWinfo64 first
-
nothing is detecting my 7970m

AB with on-screen monitoring is the way to go. -
will do, thanks

How do i configure it to show temps on screen? i don't see gpu temps as an option
-
i think ull need to put some load onto ur gpu before it can be detected by most monitoring tools. for example, start 3DMark and then immdediately after that HWInfo64. it should then have switched from IGP to ur dGPU and thus be able to detect it properly

Just sticky the damn thing somewhere.
This is THE BEST WAY TO MONITOR YOUR GPU TEMPS.
Caps got stuck.
It shows: temp (obviously), current clock speed, fan speed, voltage, load, etc.
Has color options for background.
Does work with both AMD and Nvidia cards. All of them.
Period. Now give me +rep. -
nah, cuz ive already been running that thing for ages now. but im with u, its awesome!
btw u should also maybe include a download link for that
