I have 5793 with this LCD APP9C69. I googled it, and it only returned 5 hits. So I was wondering if anyone else other than SpartanJet, Chaz, and me has the same LCD. And does anyone know who makes it?

    Thanks in advance

ETA: Mod, please correct the typo in the title.

Probably an LG screen. The actual product number appears to be LP171WU1-TLB1 based on a translation from this German-language review of a 5793 with X9000 and 8800M GTX on notebookjournal.de.

I also think it`s an LG screen, I remember that a guy in my country had it, or something very similar alfa-numerically, and it had a sticker from LG somewhere on it.
    How is it btw, bright,dim?

This is from another forum, Apple forums.

    17 Matte 1920x1200
    EDID Version........1.3
    Manufacturer........APP
    Product Code........27036 (699C) (9C69)
    Serial Number.......0

    Manufactured........Week 15 of year 2007
    Max H Size..........37 cm
    Max V Size..........23 cm
    Gamma...............2.20

    Descriptor #2 is ASCII data:
    LP171WU1-TLB1 --> LG Panel

Now the numbers are all there, they match the date and if you take the manufature (APP) and put it with the product code (9C69) you get (APP9C69). Looks like these are Apple lcd's made by LG!

This is the same "generic" LCD that a few in the 9262 LCD thread were talking about. So it may be this IS an LG... and the WU1 at that.. just another name for it. It looks like everyone may be receiving a WU1. It's weird how some are saying it's a great screen and some are saying it's poor though..

Thank you all for your help. Compared to HP's Ultra BrightView that I had, this LCD display seems too dim for my liking, but then again, HP had dual lamp.

You probably would pay more for the HP dual lamp :D
