Late yesterday afternoon I had received my M570TU Montebello from Eurocom. Everything seemed great until I realized that they had not installed a 320 GB hard drive like I had asked.

There is only 186 GB available which means that there is only a 200 GB hard drive installed right? Or am I crazy? How do I find out what they put in my system and how do I correct this? Whats the RPM?

This system was back-ordered for two weeks and after three, I finally received it. This is of course after they mishandled price matching and went ahead to initially charge what they normally would.

What should I do? Has anybody had this problem before?

I'm not overly capable and don't want to mess around with a new laptop when I shouldn't have to.

You can check in the device manager to see which hard drive is installed. Then google it to find out for sure but it does look like a 200gig hard drive.

    Hi HowieSands,

    1) Or you can use this freeware ... PCWizard 2008.1.85 ... install it and run it it will give you your ENTIRE Laptop configuration ... model numbers and everything ...
    http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

    2) If your HDD is for sure only 200GB (which I am thinking it might be) ... this is what I would do

    A) E-Mail them immeidately today ... to log in your Complaint.
    B) Call them 1st thing Monday Morning and talk to someone ... have them mail you the 320GB Hard Drive (if you are able to replace it yourself) ... or if you don't want to mess with it so you are not liable ... then ask for RMA and send it to them to fix it.

DO NOT pay them anything else. And for your Trouble ASK FOR SOMETHING FREE ...

BTW, do they have 30 days Money Back Guarantee with No Questions asked Policy!?!? If so, if they give you hard time return it and Call your Credit Card Comapny and File a Complaint ot make them aware something like this is coming up and you are Disputing the Charges and want Credit Back.

Hopefully won't come to that ... but

    G! :)

Thank you, this is what I needed. Just frustrating when you don't get what you asked for and already updated the drivers and what have you. Err.

    ^^ as gonwk said above.

just a thought, could it be partitioned.

simple test. double click on my computer on your desktop and tell us whats there. is it just the C drive or is there a D and even maybe an E drive.
this fujitsu came with a partition already even tho i didnt ask for it.

Nope, not partitioned. Thats what I thought at first in case there were backup files or what have you, but nothing.

Is it overly difficult to swap out a hard drive...and then reinstall the O/S and drivers?

Eurocom shipped me a crapped hard drive, i just swapped it yesterday. For me it was simple, however i do work with hardware everyday. But if you know a thing or 2 about computers its a simple hard drive swap, all you need is a philips screw driver.

I understand the anger and frustration you are going through. I just ordered an M571RU from eurocom with a 9800M GT, but it came with an 8800M GTX. I am furious, i hope they fix things for you without trouble.

wow Eurocom seems to be making a name for itself..

well, if you are willing to try, you can open the HDD cover at the bottom of your laptop to see if there are 2 drives there.. quite a simple check.. (would be good to fully shut down your computer and perhaps let it cool abit before opening it up.)

and umm, if you really don't even want to open anything up, send it back to them.
