Hi guys,
I was wondering the ram from here should be fine to put in my laptop? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239976
When I ordered my laptop, I got it from XoticPC and downgraded the ram to DDR3 1333, so that is why I am not choosing ram with DDR3 1600. Thanks.

That should work, are you going to add that to the existing ram in the other dimm slots?
-
Thanks and yes, I plan to add these ram to the 2 empty slots in the computer.

You don't wanna do that, if you mix faster RAM with slower RAM the faster RAM will down clock to match the speeds of the slower RAM
Please sell your old RAM and replace all 4 SODIMMs with the same exact RAM to have he full speed plus proper dual channel speed -
My old ram is 1333 and this ram is also 1333. From GPUZ, i found out my ram is Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9. They should have the same latency and speed right?

If that ram does not match my old ram, can someone tell me the type of ram I should be looking for exactly? Thanks.

oh sorry, I thought your old RAM is 1333 MHz and you are trying to buy 1600 MHz. Then they would all run at 1333 MHz in this case with Dual Channel mode.
Regarding the CAS Latency, you need to check in CPU-Z under the SPD Tab what is the CAS Latency/timings then compare them with the one you are buying.Bullrun likes this. -

Why don't you post a screenshot of your CPU-Z / SPD tab and see the manufacturer of the RAM then buy the same brand / speed???????
Like this for example:

Below is the screenshot. I was looking at kingston since it was cheap on newegg.

If it was my own laptop, I would only put the exact same RAM. I found it here: http://www.amazon.com/M471B5273CH0-CH9-Samsung-1333mhz-Pc3-10600-204-Pin/dp/B00I3FQNLY -

Usually the best way to go; either match what you have or replace all of it with a set of identical modules.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.
