    Hello,

I am interested in the Clevo P775DM3 because of the fast i7 xxxxK processors but I am not interested in gaming at all. Therefore I would like to know if it's possible to replace the usual GPUs (1060/1070/1080) offerd currently with a less powerful alternative (sufficient to watch movies, say) producing lower noise levels. Maybe there's even a fanless alternative?

    Thank you in advance.

The 1060 will idle just as low as any other card out there. There are no lower end options available for it.

Your CPU fan even lightly used will make more noise than any GPU sitting idle (and even when decoding unless it's super high bitrate stuff with loads of post processing going on the GPU will snore through it barely using any power)

I don't have experience with how fan profiles work on all Clevos but on the ones I have, and have liquid metalled, they are much quieter at idle because they need less fan speed to maintain low idle temps. Believe it or not my SLI monster is almost silent on minimum fan speeds at idle and even on low CPU workloads (browsing, YT etc)

The 1060 doesn't run very hot; if it's noise you're concerned about, have a good compound applied and pay more attention to CPU temps. Non-K editions will run a bit cooler, also.

Do you mean applying thermal liquid on the CPU, such as Grizzly Conductonaut ? This is for sure something I'll have done from the reseller.

    Same question here.

Which compound is your choice. IC Diamond or Gelid GC Extreme is good enough in most cases. Liquid metal is slightly better and more of a hassle to apply - and usually more expensive.
