    Hey guys!

Which cooler you think its the most effective in terms of temperature reduction and keeping the laptop cool for periods of time?!

this is how the laptop looks on the back, i think all clevo look the same, not sure though, so thats why i am posting.

if someone has any results from his own laptop, with cooler and without would be awesome. especially since i am planning to have a 6990 and they tend to get hot i dont wanna melt my whole laptop!

For these machines I think coolers are generally unnecessary. Where they blow air they don't really increase the air flow through the machine where it would need to be for cooling anyway. I use a cheap Targus chillmat that I bought a few years ago for another laptop mostly because it keep the laptop off my lap hence blocking cooling. I have an NP8170 now and it stays plenty cool with the fans well below max. Granted I don't have the GPU that you do but the lappy cooling system should be fine and if it is not a laptop cooler won't help much anyway. IMO laptop cooler = waste of money unless you just want it as a lap desk.

In NotePal U3 (Cooler Master) you can adjust the spacing of the fans. According to the inlets in the laptop.
Unfortunately, the decrease temperatures is symbolic (2-4 C).

Generally, these machines have a good enough cooling system that a separate cooler isn't necessary. If you do want to use a cooler anyway, I use a Bytecc NC-820 for my machine that I have generally been very happy with.

Buy your self a pair of these, and skip the cooler.

The butt being raised works wonders.

tbh since i wanna keep the laptop i will buy soon for like 4-5 years, i wanna try and really keep it cool so i avoid any meltdowns etc. since i wanna try and OC even a bit the 6990 later on to gain a bit of performance i think i will have a cooler. the coolermaster u3 seems to be a good choice since u can place the fans underneath the vents !

If you're worried about it lasting 4-5 years, I'd avoid overclocking. Overclocking at all increases the heat on components, which increases overall wear. The 6990m already runs a little warmer than the 6970/485m do.

Generally speaking, the laptop at stock probably doesn't need a cooler as the cooling system is pretty efficient as is.
