I have had constant problems with my Sager NP2090 since I bought it a little over a year ago. I have sent it in to Sager for various repairs, roughly every other month since I bought the computer. Now, I am exactly ONE WEEK out of warranty and Sager is telling me that my motherboard is shot, and they want 400 bucks to replace it. Needless to say, I am very reluctant to give them any more of my money. I am quite comfortable and somewhat experienced in replacing components myself, but Sager won't tell me what Clevo motherboard I have in my computer. I'm thinking I can probably save some money by ordering a board and doing it myself. Sager tells me that this Clevo motherboard is proprietary to my laptop, and no other board will work. That sounds fishy to me.

    Somebody please help me!!!

hate to break it to ya buddy, but chances are slim to non-existant that you'll find a new, fitting mobo on the interwebz. you might be able to pick up a second-hand one though.

if you wish to persevere, i think it's a Compal IFL90 barebone.

All laptop motherboards are proprietary and made specifically for one laptop. whizzo is right in saying that the sager 2090 is a compal ifl90, so nothing to do with clevo. If you can source a new mobo, great, but compal won't sell to the public, so you'd need to source one elsewhere.

I too got my NP2090 or IFl90 depending on how you look at it and had to send it back to replace the mother board within 4 months, but since then I have not had any problems.
