Just ran the test myself to confirm the issues as well, and i got 20k. Usage is around 50-60% the whole test. It's terrible.

I noticed you are forcing the Vsync to be always on. Try the 3rd option, On unless the application says otherwise.

I don't quite understand why my 3DMark score is different from other peoples? Some people score 15000 - 20000, but then I see people (like me) who score 5000 - 7000? Is my score good, in that case? (Score is in my signature)

The discussion was about 3Dmark 6, your score is on the 11, with DirectX11, obviously it will be worse ;)

5000-7000 should be 3DMark11, if you score 5000-7000 on 3DMark06, your GPU is in critical condition :p And the score in your sig looks fine.

I don't see this option. I'm assuming you mean in the CCC?

What is sad is seeing my desktop (i7 950, HD6950) score 5222 in 3DMark11, and my laptop scoring 5893, but still my desktop averages 30 more frames than my laptop in Max Payne 3.

Yes, in CC. This option: 8a28298916b951c19618b66173cf7581.png

I believe the 3dmark score's about the frames you get in total, so if you're locking it up on 60, it obviously scores lower. I mostly get around 60fps in the first tests, but the later ones go way above that.

That's some horror issue right there for 7970m users and it needs to be fixed by ATI/AMD soon because what the point of spending $1500+ on a machine that's not giving you its full potential.

So I just came from work And saw a lot new threads about 7970m..Great to hear that sagero opened a new thread about utillizing issues couse its deffinitelly affecting everybody who owns a clevo.
For the OP Do you own the back to karkand expansion ??If so please try to run Back to karkand with 64 players or gulf of oman and playit for a while. This dude here did a perfect job about shoving everybody that GTX680m isnt having any utilization issues, right when he lowered the settings to medium he had 60 fps constant with v sync on. And that was in the middle of a intensive gunfight with a slower CPU.
    Bf3 mp clevop170em 680m - YouTube
The 7970m sholud performe simmiliar. Try to achieve that. Go to an intensive gunfight with 64 players and try to get 60fps on whatever settings. Just dont walk around on the base like on the vide o_Or even better try to disable V-sync to stop limiting your fps to 60 and set everything to low or medium and go to a intensive gunfight. What I get there is just lower utilization( slightli better fps but impossible to cap at 60. The reason why you want to by capped in 60 fps in games like this is whan a player with the same skill as you have is shotting at you at 60 fps and you got around 30 your going donw. for competetive players on a fast-paced shotters around 60 fps is a must.

Also a good test to try is F1 2011. It has a built in benchmark. If you have the game, try to run the test at max, Im getting 50% utilization and around 34 fps, thats the same as on my old 5870m. You have a 3720qm so you should get better result but still I dont belive you'll get 99% utilization in that benchmark.

Btw, you can enable ingame monitoring in MSI afterburner. Hit settings , monitoring and enable ussage, fps and temps and thick - Show on screen display on these.

Am I the only one who does not have an option to show temps in Afterburner? Using v 2.2.3, 2.2.2 didn't have it either.

That guy doesn't even show his FPS on the video. I call shenanigans. Even Htwingnuts review he gets about 42fps on 1080p ultra stock.

You need wake up your gpu first. Run Kombuster than Afterburner.

Yes on high and ultra. But somewhere in the middle of the video he will change the settings to medium(check the full vid). even in brutal gunfights he wont slip from 60 fps. Keep in mind that Strike at karkand is realy two times more demanding than any other map. this should be also possible on 7970m. For me this map is almost unplayeble. I cant go with dips to 30fps it just anoyes me so much ..

You have to read more carefully, he said it's constant 60 at Medium settings, and yes indeed it is.

I think it's clear now that all 7970M's are having this issue on the P1XEX, that's the conclusion i take on this thread.

So are you saying the 7970 can't do 60fps in medium under the same settings and map?

No way!! you will get even bigger dips as its a more intensive maps. For me its much worse than caspian border, or operation firestorm or whatever. Actually you cant get constant 60 fps at any map with 64p that is when you play out of the spawn base but somewhere between gunfights. maybe on close quarter maps with 16 players you can..

It has the power to do that, for instance, on a Alienware. But the current issues in P150/170EM are preventing those results.

I think that probably operation firestorm and kharg island 64p. Go somewhere in the middle of a map between gunfights and explosions.
But are deffinitely not as demanding as the ones from back to karkand dlc, And its a shame that those maps are affected the most as in my opinion those are the best maps for conquest large. :(

Yup totally nerfed on medium settings. However, my ultra settings were fine. I was getting about 30 fps in the heat of battle and full utilization for the most part. Sometimes I saw it dip to 90's or high 80's but for the most part it was playable. Obviously I'd want more FPS out of this card but according to notebookcheck average is arond 30's anyway in ultra.

That doesn't make it ok though. Notebookcheck may well have been experiencing the same issue as all of us without knowing about it/caring.
