    Lol.... now I made 2 threads, one for my gpu and one for my cpu, don't know if i should talk about this in the other one so I mad this thread. my CPU temps are idling at 65 to 78!! is that too high?

    I need help

    those temps are ok.

    you should watch the temps of the GPU more.

    Gophn, those temps are not normal for i7. Like everyone else it should be idling around 50c. His is running at almost 50% higher at idle which is too hot.
    Looks like he might have it figured out though on his other thread.

    depending on the CPU TDP and the environment.

    the desktop Core i7 temps are like those, mobile ones should be cooler.

    to the OP:
    - make sure not to block the bottom fans and vents.
    - check to see if the heatsink is securely on the CPU
    - and check thermal compound to see if it is applied properly.

    Idling at 78? That's considered pretty bad by my standards. Where does it get on full load?

    Yeah, I think I'ma check my heatsink and if the thermal compound was applied well. Btw, I'ma be posting in the other thread for the 280m, you can close this one.
