After 2 years +, my D900K took it's last breath on Friday night (after shutting it down before heading home, thinking it would turn back on). Spent the great deal of the late night troubleshooting it, tearing it down to bare bones to boot- nothing! Luckily my hard drives and data are fine, plus every other part in the pc (CPU, Video Card, DVD-Burners, RAM, Super-G WiFi) are still in working condition. I might have to go look for a replacement board to try reviving this beast. In the meantime, I am working with my Toshiba X205 laptop.

it could be a number of things.... other than the motherboard.
    - videocard module might need reseating
    - other internal parts might need reseating

Yep, I've tried reseating the video card, cpu, wifi card, ram and even hard drives. The computer turns on, but no POST... It seems like it constantly reboots over and over (indicated by flashing optical drive lights).

Once it turned on and started booting into windows, but it crapped out. Hasn't POSTed since. I'm ready to plunge on a mobo.

    did you try:
    - removing all non-essential internal cards
    - remove battery
    - only leaving CPU, RAM, videocard inside

And the RAM and/or CPU could also be bad, so did you try different ones?

Yep, I removed all non-essential card(s)/internal card(s) (Giga-byte Super-G card), and even my e-Sata pcmcia card, no go...)

Yep, I took the battery out, only running on the power brick, no go...

I have a Sempron64 and an AthlonX2 3800+, both of which are confirmed working in other 939 systems & I even have known-working DDR SODIMMs chips (TwinMOS), no go...

I even took out the 4600+ in the Clevo and put it in my desktop, works. I had my friend try out my 2GB of Patriot DDR1 SODIMMs, works. So the parts are all confirmed working.

new motherboard for D900K or D900C (in ur sig)?

If D900C, your warranty should cover it.

Anyone have a D900K/NP9750 disassemble guide? My mobo is coming in today and I want to have a crack at this tonight.

I don't know exactly how close the match is between the D900K and the D901C, but Eurocom has the D901C service manual online, which might make do as a pseudo-guide in the event you cannot find the proper service manual.

Thanks for that, yeah from the looks of it, it's different, but the disassembling concept should be just about the same.

Sorry for rising this thread back from the dead, but another problem has arisen with my D900K.

I haven't powered it up in a month or two, but upon powering on, the notebook will not POST to screen, the LED indicator panel (numlock, caps, hd activity) will stay lit but it will shortly blink 15 times and shut off. I do not hear the hard drives or dvd drives spin up. Any veteran D900K owners know what's up?

    *UPDATE*

In addition to no drive spin-ups, the FANS do not even turn on at all.

I'm sure the service manual is findable around google. In any case at first glance sounds again like a motherboard problem but just do the usual steps, disassemble the computer and try hitting power without GFX, mems etc then putting stuff back carefully and firmly. Still is a strange thing to happen after a long period of no usage...

I think you'll find that this service manual is not findable around google, along with the m570ru, m570u, d900t and others which are linked on guruofgaming

vfxraven, Gophn and I are veteran D900K owners. Their are not too many d900k users around here.

So the system does nothing when you power it up?
Does the blue halo light come on around the power button?

I have had my share of problems with the D900K, and I have fixed most of them, but I never had that problem.
I think the problem is related to the internal battery.

Flip the system over and unscrew the three flat head screws which hold the battery in.
    Than try powering up.
If the same results occur, the battery is not the problem.

The next step, is to tell me exactly what happens.
Does the backlight of the screen come on? (does the screen look like its powering up)

The next thing to do is flip the system over, and unscrew the 4 screws on the central panel. That will allow you to get to the memory.
Remove both memory cards and try powering the system up with one memory card at a time.

Another thing to note is the battery indicator light.
If the middle light on the lid lights up when you plug the ac power in, than the motherboard is most likely good.

I think its just a system powering problem.
Try removing the ac power adaptor, and booting on teh battery.
Sometimes my system refuses to start off the ac power, so I power off battery, and than plug in the ac power adaptor.

    Let us know what happens,

    K-TRON

    Hi K-Tron thanks for replying.

The system does nothing upon power up. I did just notice right now when I tried powering it up that the blue halo LED around the power button does not illuminate.

The hud LED (for caps, num, etc) do come on, but then flash repeasted times before the pc shuts off.

I tried with and without the battery connected. I The battery indicator does work and it charges too.

I do not see the screen powering up.

I tried powering up with 1 mem stick at a time, no go.

I tried powering up with only the battery, still no go.

    So far, it's still dead/unresponsive.
