    Long time lurker.

A few years ago I did all my homework here on Notebook Review to replace the panel on my Dell L702X. I went with the above AUO and one of the color profiles posted here, and it was fantastic, best upgrade ever. Fast forward a couple of years and an accident caused a crack in the display. I am trying to find an exact, identical panel to replace it but every shady company who lists them wants to provide a 'compatible' screen they have. I do not want a Chimei, LG, or anything but a genuine AUO. I've seen them side by side, there is no comparison.

I managed to find the V0 (glossy) version but glossy won't work for me. If anyone can supply, or point me to someone who can supply exactly what I need, I'll be your best friend!

    Thanks for reading.

You, Sir, have excellent taste (typing this from one :p ).

Only good option to get a specific screen is to buy used, so ... it seems you're in luck then, and for a moderate price as well. It's too bad you don't like glossy (it's even better), considering there's an actual, honest-to-god V4 available atm ... This seller clearly doesn't know what he's got his hands on; that thing is highly sought after, so a +$100 wouldn't be far off.

t456, thank you for the links. If I don't completely luck out and find a new one then I've got a backup plan now.

Thanks everyone for your input. To end the story, I managed to get a used V.5 panel that is in perfect condition, and I talked to the place where I got my first AUO panel and they had one new 173HW01 V.0 left - I know it's the glossy finish, but I got it anyway. So, I should be good for displays for a while!
