I just got my laptop about 5pm central time.. I quickly installed XP and one by one found out what drivers were needed for each component of this machine. I'm glad I didn't just use the Driver CD supplied with this thing as some of these drivers were a year old when the latest were one a few weeks old.. like my Gigabit NIC, Audio, and even the Intel Chipset drivers were a few month new compared to the CD..

I did notice one dead pixel tho only like HOURS later after I had installed everything. Can't see it normally but it sorta turns green when there is black around it.. and its light green.. and with this resolution of this screen.. this pixel is way small that I don't even care. the pixel itself seem to try and change with the screen.. just sorta looks inverted from what I can tell.

so far tho hardware wise and a few game test.. SWEET.. and keeps on going..

I will update this post at a later time.. I want to get back to the setting things up.. after running some demo's off nVidia site.. I can say.. Holy Freekk Sejj.. wow this thing even impressed my wife.. now she wants one heh..

Congrats on the new system. :D

The Drivers CD is always out of date, but thats normal.

About the deal pixel, you should contact your vendor and ask if they can do anything about it (more than likely, they will). If it really does not bother you, then thats fine.

My girlfriend has been gaming on my notebook for a while now (Oblivion and such). I was thinking of building her a Clevo M570U.

Remember to toggle the fans (Fn + F2) to max speed when gaming to reduce the chance of overheating. And monitor those GPU temps.

Give us a review if you can, you should have probably top honors if you benchmark it for us.

I also own a 5760 (bought in late December), but had XP installed by the retailer (discountlaptops.com).

I simply assumed that they would have used the most up-to-date drivers available, but am now a bit skeptical.
I'd like to check myself to see if there's any new drivers available for my components.

Can you recommend what system components I should be checking now and then?

I know the GPU driver is big - and I can go to laptopvideo2go or the sager website for driver updates.

But what other parts and where to go?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

the main things to really check for are:
(in order from most important to least)
    - Videocard
    - Chipset
    - Audio
    - Network (both ethernet and wireless)
    - Bluetooth
    - etc..

IT is always recommended to get your drivers from the laptop manufacturer. As they will have tested them with their equipment and can be sure it works correctly.

That said, the video drivers from LV2G are highly recommended and used by a whole lotta people, so you'll probably be good with drivers from there too.
