I don't think I can hold out much longer. Only found Sager this morning, but I am already making sure I have the MEANS to buy a 5720!!! I will most likely buy from PowerNotebooks as they seem to be Johnny on the spot with the customer service.
Ok, I just have a question on the modular bay. Can I get the HD bracket later, for perhaps less than 25 bucks? Also, can you put the extra battery in this bay if you don't get an extra HD? What else if anything else can you put into the modular bay?
I would use it for:
Half Life2 and CS:S
WoW
& a mobile Digital Photo Studio.
Not to mention hooking up the GPS and doing some Wardriving.
The DVI is awesome as I have a DLP 16:9 projector!
My old system died about 3 weeks ago and I have been using my work laptop, but feeling the need for something a lot more powerful. I will most likely buy from PowerNotebooks as they seem to be Johnny on the spot with the customer service.
NOW I just have to Sweat out the config I want!
Great forum, you have all been a great help and I look forward to geekin with you.

Heh - yes, it is very tempting to push the "Order Now" button, I know the feeling!
It is quite possible to get the hard drive bracket later. Very easy to swap in and out with the optical drive. You can also get a modular bay battery. Unless you can get it on eBay, I don't think it will be less than twenty five dollars.
The Sager 5720 is an excellent machine, check some of the user reviews - there are links in my Sager Model guide, which is a sticky in the Sager fourm.
Have you also considered the NP-5320? That's the machine I have, check my review. Also has a DVI-D.
Hey - if you need help configuring it, just post back. We can help for sure. Let us know your budget.

Oh, I have spent much of the day choosing the 5720. I like the full size keyboard, and the 17" display. I should apologize to my employer as I did nothing today but lappy research.
The reviews here have been great!
On the modular bay...I'm still a bit confused...
Do the extra HD or battery share the same bay with the DVD or are there seperate bays for the extra battery or HD?
Thanks again for your help! -
A second battery will fit but according to Sager it won't work because the 2nd battery doesn't have enough juice to power the Graphic card when the 1st is out of juice.

From Discount Laptops.
Differences Between Sager NP5710 vs. NP5720
These two units are basically identical with minor optional configuration differences
The NP5710 will be made available with ATI MRX700 W/128MB only, and will have the 2nd battery option in the modular bay.
The NP5720 will be made available with nVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX W/256MB only, and the 2nd battery will not be optional due to power requirements of the nVIDIA GF Go 7800 GTX. -
Ah, just found out the answers on Sager's website. Didn't realize the image gallery was mouse over and not click
Looks like all that is left is to ORDER!!!!
