I'm really curious on why you settled for this instead of the 5793. From what I have seen, it is possible to fit your specs into it and it would have been a smaller package. From what I understand, the 9262 is great for its SLI and multi HD abilities, non of which is really taken advantage of here.

i believe he got this lappy as opposed to the 5793 is because for the upgradability factor. adding the second card and a quad laptop chip.

room to grow. the 9262 is, in certain respects, a 5793 with room to grow; the 5793 is basically already topped out.

thats right, though the 5793 is good it doesnt have the same kind of upgradability as the 9262, sure i dont have multiple hard drives or dual graphics cards but i plan on adding them as well as a quad core processor, 2GB ram and Vista Pro 64Bit

i was going to get dual 250GB hard drives this week, then i heard about the iphone coming out on PayG (Pay As You Go) and if the price is right (£130-£150) then i will be getting one as ive had my motorola E3 for like 2-3 years and im in need of something new :D

The iphone will not be £130-£150 on payg...More like £300 I would guess

well if its like $200 in the US why would they charge nearly double for it in the UK? i could just buy it from the US and then unlock, right? it would be a hell of a lot cheaper if they do charge £300 for it.

@Armageddon, there are plenty of ways to improve the score, but you're not going to squeeze more than OCing can...

thats what i was thinking but that would be more then the 17.5% tax we get, if US gets it for $199 (8GB) then that would be £101.32 and with 17.5% tax it would be £119.05 and not £300. so if it is £300 then i would import it USA and unlock it, even with the delivery and everything it would still come to less then £300

    You're right.
You can save a lot of money buying from the US depending on the product you purchase, of course.
Keep in mind though that many items bought in the US also only have a US warranty!

    I also have a 120Gb Fujitsu,probably the same drive.
Runs usually at 45C, can get upto 57C at high disk activity. Pretty normal.

with some clock reader thing it was saying it was going around 60-65C, but i might had read it wrong, and mixed it up with the GPU temp, but it still was getting quite loud so i decided to give it a day off :D

60-65C? NO freaking way man. Were you playing with matches or something? :D

My gpu is idling at 42 at the moment but it can get over 60 during gaming.
Chances are you mixed them up but you said something about a weird sound coming from the drive?

Was it loud clicking noises or scratching sounds?
Go into HDTune and run the full error scan and also check the health tab next to it.

Sorry if this question has already been answered, and that if I'm bumping an extremely old thread, but when setting up your operating system, you probably chose a US keyboard, instead of an UK keyboard(Windows says in the Windows XP installation that for a default keyboard go for US, thus a lot of people have wrong keyboard layouts).
    Yet again- sorry.
