That's awesome. I'm hoping to get something along the same lines as this, but I'm torn between the Q9550 and the E8600.

Lou4612, what made you go with the Quad? I read that the core 2's are still better for gaming than the Qs.

    Congrats again.

That statement is about to be overturned.... since upcoming games are being programmed to fully utilize multicore CPUs to help increase FPS and do physics calculations.

I even tried Left 4 Dead on a quad-core system without Multi-Core support enabled and disabled.
    - pretty significant difference in performance from FPS and stability of framerate with a lot of zombies coming into the scene with multiple explosions and effects happening.

Multi-threaded games are coming out and they will do much better with quad-cores than dual-cores.

Thanks Gophn, I really wanted to go with a Q also just to be future proof but a lot of people were telling me that it'd be a long time before games were really made to take full advantage of the mulit-cores.

Of course that was all speculation- your frames speak for themselves!

    Thanks for the insight!

The SLI will put it ahead majorly. Same to the Quad CPU. ;)
