Is there a guide around here to help dismantling the laptop down to the keyboard-insides because he wants to get a clean job going.

What? The laptop didn't overclock? Wow, well I guess those energy drinks don't work too well after all.

There is a manual on the Clevo website and one also comes with the laptop in hard copy as well as soft copy on the driver CD.

Do not turn it on for the next few days. It should be upside down until you figure out what to do.

    service manual in my sig.

take the keyboard out and clean with isopropyl (rubbing/cleaning) alcohol, and ensure it is FULLY dry before letting any electricity near it (including its battery)

    Yeah men,
the manual we had used, from the clevo website, didn't have any info on keyboard removal but from a google image search - of "m860tu keyboard" I got that its fairly straightforward.
We've doused it in alcohol. Waiting till tomorow - right now, its a usb keyboard. Should be okay.
He had dismantled almost the entire thing from the back up until he realised how simple it actually was to remove.
At the end of things, it had been less than one day and the panel underneath the keyboard was all sticky, the buttons were sluggish on spring back, Lucozade gets viscous quick.
    cheers.
