It accidentally came unplugged from the power extension board, and i noticed the next day that the laptop wont turn when i have it plugged in. All other devices plugged into the same power extension board can turn on fine.

I guess this means its dead? Is there any way to fix it? Im really surprised that the AC adapter would die like this just because it came unplugged...

The laptop will turn on if i have the battery plugged in but i obviously have no way to charge the battery now...and its draining fast too.

I will need a specific AC adapter for the model right? Cant just walk into the shops to get a random AC adapter? Really dont have the money now to buy a replacement :(.

Can you measure the voltage of the PSU with a multimeter? PSU's dying is rather rare so your notebook might have gotten broken somewhere on the board in the charging port.

Often a dead supply can deliver its rated voltage at no load then collapses as soon as you try to draw from it, so while it moving a lot will show it's dead, it not moving is not proof it's not dead.

I dont have a multimeter unfortunately. I doubt the charging port itself is broken as i never moved the laptop around a lot. The only thing that happened was that the plug at the power board came out.

Someone on another forum said that if i can find an AC adapter with the same connector and the voltage matches, i can use it. Thoughts?

Yes, the amperage needs to be the same or higher to properly run the system at load too.

I've only had this issue happen once for me, also that is rather easy to diagnose, since the green light would go off on the PSU when trying to start.

also yes, you can use another PSU as long the voltage is the same. Just make sure the PSU has enough AMP, otherwise the system won't turn on. If you can find 150W+ PSU that would be great.

Yeah, DC power supplies have a few failure modes you have to be aware of.

We have AC Adapters available for all Clevo models. You can order them online via our UPGRADE configurator - choose CLEVO specific model. We also have 780W AC Adapter (see pics below).
