I bought a NP9150-S with a 15.6" Full HD LED-Backlit Display with Matte Finished Surface (1920 x 1080) from Sager Notebook and recently discovered it has a zit on it's screen. There's a mass of red pixels about 1/16th of an inch across, which is readily apparent on a black screen, but almost undetectable with a white screen, which is how it went undetected for so long. Pixel exercisers haven't worked.

The 30-day money back guarantee window has passed. I kick myself for not going with my instincts and running a pixel test when I first received the computer. I didn't buy the dead pixel policy.

Sager support had no suggestions said I couldn't return it. It is under a 1-year warranty, which has roughly 10.5 months left.

    1. Can I fix this zit problem myself?

    2. Sager's warranty, custom gaming laptops - Welcome to Sager Notebooks, mentions

"If you discover a defect, Sager will, at its option and to the extent permitted by law: (1) repair the Product (using new or refurbished replacement parts); (2) replace the Product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product; or (3) refund the purchase price of this Product at no charge to you—provided you return it during the limited warranty period, with freight charges prepaid to the appropriate Sager repair department, and provided you obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number prior to shipping your defective Product..."

I plan to keep this laptop for years to come, and I'd rather it be fixed now. If I do a warranty return, do I risk getting back a product that has been manufactured using "serviceable used parts" that's going to cause me more problems down the road? Is the risk worth it? Will the warranty cover dead pixels, under the defect clause? What's the best way to deal with Sager?

Thank you for reading, I appreciate any advice.

Did you buy it directly from Sager or a reseller. If a reseller contact them to see if they can provide any help.

The Sager warranty typically will cover your screen if it has 5 total bad pixels or one in the center.

Is this wide a gamut screen? Problem with red blotches visible on dark were reported for wide gamut screens before.
