Should I add a TV tuner card ? Does it reduce the battery life ??

The TV tuner should not make any huge impact to power, especially when its idle.

If you feel that you are going to want and watch TV/Cable on your notebook, then get it.

As well as if you want to connect external video device (ex. game console) to your notebook.

Is this true? I know they had issues with ATS, but I thought they are okay now by switching to Sager warranty? Please reply asap.....

The price seems a bit high - if you had gotten the Go7950GTX video card, I would say the price is about right, but since you only got the X1600 (I'm guessing you did not need any more than that), the price is a bit high.

Flawless computers or RJTech as mentioned would have probably put that machine together for you. Call them for quotes.

It does seem a bit high...but you did order an extra AC adapter and the 3-year warranty--so that probably evens it out some.

just check out some of the posts on that forum and read for yourself

Charles, the guy who know owns PCTorque, has been really really slow in helping people with their ATS problems. It's been going on for 6 weeks, and he even went on vacation and left people hanging for a week. He's made constant promises to respond to people's emails, but people have been still making threads about their lack of support.

And this recent thread, makes the allegation that they might even be floating on their customers' money. PCTorque at one time was a very solid company, but now they're slipping towards the bottom.

Thanks rickster.. I read some of the forums and it definitely does look like it.. I called them this morning and cancelled my order.. (No hard feelings PCTorque !!)

I previously contaced flawless and they said they could'nt do WUXGA with X1600. I'm a bit hesitant about RJTech because they have warranty from a third party company calld RepairMaster. I don't know much about this company.. but what's the guarantee that they will not end up like ATS ?

I called Sager and asked if they can configure 6750 with WUXGA (this option is not on the website) and they said they can... The price the guy gave me is better than pctorque (close to rjtecth). Sager is a bigger company and I trust the Sager warranty more than Repair Master...

So, what do you guys think?

I think the Sager warranty would help give you a little more peace of mind. I don't know anything about Repair Master, but it sounds like you would be more comfortable with Sager.

*** deleted price and specs since sager sent me an email asking not to share the specs/price because the specs are not open to public ****

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

I see that this lappy comes with an IR Port ( Infrared Communication, FIR, SIR and ASK Comopliant). Does anyone use the IR on this laptop? What kind of devices can be used ? An external remote control ? Or a wireless mouse?

I use IR with my cellphones (I used it for my old Nokia, and now I am using it with my Palm Treo), its very convenient to beam programs to my phone without busting out the USB cable.

It still has some uses like that, but most of the time, a typical user wont even care about it though.

Another thing about IR on notebooks, is that it can be used to re-program DVD players to unlock their Regions and even Macrovision.

I deleted the price and specs from my previous post since sager sent me an email asking not to share the specs/price because the specs are not open to public.

I will write a review once I get the laptop.

That price beats RJ Tech with the 3 year warranty.
