your review was pretty good. it was a good read for me. if you have a digital camera, you should take some pics of the screen in a good lighting and no lighting to show it off.

Have you tryed it with some headphone? People are saying the quality throught the jack is poor,maybe they have fixed the issue?

 

I haven't tested that. I'll take more pictures and then test out the headphones later on tonight.

 

Good review of the 9750. It is interesting after reading a first review (Albsterama reviewed the 9750 last winter) to see others' reviews a few months later. I hope you enjoy your 9750 as much as I'm enjoying mine (yours is a bit more of a beasty, too).

Some suggestions and I hope Andrew picks up on this - please replace the word "crap" with something else. Its a review and it doesn't sound pro but we get the gist of it.

Another suggestion is to download FRAPS and post some scores from it for the games. Regardless, theres some nice scores by the 512mb 7900GTX on the 3dMarks.

Bench the PCMark06 as well. Can't hurt to see how the 4400+ compares to the Core Duos.

As the 9750 is new to you, suggest you use the combination key press of the Fn+F2 keys to kick all the fans into high next time you game or when you are running CPU intensive jobs. Always helps to keep things nice and cool at a cost of a few additional decibels. Other than that my CPU temp is also at 44C and back in the cold winter, its dropped to 36C as well, 1.00Ghz but I redid my AS5 and about a week worth of reboots to let the AS5 set.

If you want the GPU temp, you need to use the Riva Tuner. This can be a little tricky to setup but let me know and I can help you. I use mobmeter to measure the CPU temp and frequency, surprise that NHC is now available for the non-Intels as well.

The Super PI 2M was a little dissappointing. Best I got was 1 min 26s with the RAM tweaked. Oh well.

Love the line connectors to identify each port, wished I had done the same with that for my review but that was not the standard at the time.

Battteries to 3 hrs just letting it sit ! Wow, have to try that one. My tests showed about 1 hr and 25 - 30 mins on batts just doing Word and surfing.

I finally did the upgrade to the June 2006 AMD released CPU drivers and optimizer with the MS multi-processor hotfix. Minor to little performance improvement but what the heck. You may have that already installed, if not, its an option to consider with the usual caveats.

the second picture for the 3dMark06 screenshots is incorrect. It's showing the '05 "performance" picture instead.

 

A little update...

I finally got my pcmark 05 to work. I got a 5202 score. This was before restarting, defraging and all that optimizing good stuff. Now that I got pc mark to work I can finally submit my revisions and will do so very soon. I'm going to run pc mark again and see if I can boost my score as well.

Albsterama, I didn't understand your charts as much..what did you get for pcmark 05, or did you not run it? SOrry for the confusion.

 

I submitted my updates. The only thing I didn't ge to do was take some pictures of the screen adn stuff myself. My camera is still messed up, so i decided to just do the other updates and take pictures later. I'll let you guys know later what's updated once it gets posted.
