Anyone have instructions? I see MySN has two separate EC and in the BIOS folder there is flash.bat and flashme.bat.

    Thanks

    Hi

I don't have access to the download page at the moment, sorry - but there should be flashing instructions in a Readme.txt file with each BIOS download available through our website. If there isn't for the U705 and you are at all unsure about the procedure then please contact our revalent support office, they will be happy to help you out!

I checked, I posted this thread because I couldn't find a readme file.

Ok. This should be fixed tomorrow, I have made R&D aware of the issue.

I don't mean to be pedantic in any way, but this isn't correct. The only reported issue (one report) with any of our currently available BIOS is the 1.05.01 version. I have contacted our R&D department about this and they will be able to look into it fully on Monday.

This particular version is not an XMG BIOS but a stock Clevo BIOS and we have made it available on the basis of what Clevo told us (it was released on Friday). At the moment we don't know where the fault lies.

Well I was the one who reported the issue and I was forced to try the other files, as well, because I was incorrectly informed that the current BIOS would work. Guess what - none of them work for g-sync. I also reported that to tech support. The g-sync specific files in the clevo BIOS thread do work. Clearly there is some sort of breakdown in communication between mysn and clevo.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that the report of the BIOS issue came from you in my post.

Anyway, at the moment we do not know if this is a one off or if there is an issue with this EC or BIOS update which causes the same incompatability with all chassis. What I wanted to make clear is that this BIOS was released by Clevo for both versions of the chassis - G-SYNC and non G-SYNC. The communication channel is ok, but it may have simply contained wrong information. Either way, we will know more on Monday and get it resolved, whatever the issue was :)

@kovboi - if you haven't already done so, could I ask you to email support and let us know which version you reverted back to and provide a link if possible? There are archived EC and BIOS available through our download page so one of these should also have worked. Thanks.

I don't want to hijack this thread. If the OP doesn't have a g-sync laptop, the flashing instructions linked above should work. Otherwise, well let's just say there's some disagreement on the matter for now. ;-)

There's no disagreement, we just don't know what the issue is at the moment! The instructions discussed above were that there should be a readme.txt file in the BIOS download itself which would explain the 2x EC update - this is missing.

I would recommend other owners do not update to the 1.05.01 BIOS at the moment until we have looked into this further, but I noticed that the OP purchased from LPC so you would have an XMG branded BIOS if you updated from our download page (in case you weren't aware of this!).

    Hi All

Quick update on this topic, the current latest BIOS available for the U705 is for the non G-SYNC version only. The new G-SYNC compatible version will be uploaded in the next couple of days and there will be a notification on the download page to explain this.

It's still not completely clear where the confuision occured, but we can only go on the information that we are told at the time, hopefully it is resolved now.
