Hello, I just wanted to know about these companies for an x7200.

I want to get the new 6970 in xfire, MYSN offer it at 478 euro and Hawkforce offer it at 749 euro. So I am confused how one can be so much cheaper than the other since they are both in Germany?

I just wondering about people experiance with these companies and if anyone can shed light on the price difference.

    Thanks

    Hello,

the price difference seems to be because Hawkforce had the 6970m CF more than a month and was the only one who sold it, the CF at MySN ist quiet new. I guess it will change soon ;).
I have not any experience with MySN so can´t say nothing about them.
But with Hawkforce, and with the cards:

I ordered a X7200 with GTX 485m SLI at the end of January. I ordered at Hawkforce, because there are many good reviews for him on german´s forums etc.
After HF received the payment, he called me and said that the GTX 485 are not available though he told me it would, but he couldn´t do anything since he got them from Eurocom and they all of a sudden had none. It would be end of february to get them. BUT he had the 6970m CF for me. I would be the first in germany to get them. He made me an offer and I agreed.
14 days later the laptop arrived (got it from Eurocom, too - Hawkforce does business with Eurocom and helps them to expand in europe, obviously).
The first benches were very good, but the laptop had freezes and at many games, i got black screens. The WEI didn´t work, too, always got BSOD´s or a loop.
I looked at the temps of the video cards, they were quiet hot! So I called Hawkforce and he said I should send the notebook to him, he would look at it and solve the problems.
Did that - meanwhile I read here at NBR that the cards had to be Engineering Samples, because they were not officially sold at that time... So I asked Hawkforce, but he said "no, they are not Engineering samples, Eurocom has a deal with AMD".
Well, I got the laptop back and Hawkforce called me and said he played most of the games and hadn´t any problems and the WEI also worked.
Well. the temp problems were better, it didn´t run very hot, but the idle was still very much ...50-60°... one card didn´t get at lower speed in idle, too...
And: Of course I got the same problems as I had before, never could play more than one race at Dirt 2, then blackscreen, and many other games, too (not all, some did run well). The WEI had the same problem - maybe on 1 of 20 runs I could get through.
So I really wanted to know if the cards were "originals" and did take pictures from the cards and posted them here and sent them to AMD - and you know, what? Yep, the cards WERE engineering samples! AMD even wrote me that it looks like my machine was one that was used as demo machine for Eurocom...
BTW, I could not start the laptop from battery - Once started, it would run, but not start. First time Hawkforce said "that´s a common problem, I can´t do anything", but after searching google and here at NBR and no one had this problem, I decided to do something about that and the cards...

So I wrote Hawkforce and he said "sorry" and that Eurocom agreed to send a new laptop with new, original cards in a couple of weeks.
A few days ago, I had to write again to Hawkforce and ask when anything would happen, and I wasn´t "very nice" with my mail, because I now had a new laptop for 3000 Euro and couldn´t use it right since 1,5 months...
Well, he said I should send it back now, what I did and I said I want original cards and the start on battery... otherwise he could give me my money back. And I wrote that I want something for the problems that I had, maybe extra RAM, a CPU upgrade, cash, whatever, but I don´t think that this is too much asked...

If I now will get a laptop that is working and that has no problems anymore, than I will say: OK, wasn´t a good start, but all right now. Otherwise you can think what I would say...

My personal opinion: Don´t want to blame anyone, but the new partnership with Eurocom doesn´t seem very good for Hawkforce. If it continues this way, he will destroy his good reputation in a fast way... Hope he won´t, though.
