These guys have some awesome offers right now,
I've been getting ready to order a system for the last 2 weeks, and just today it came down to about $200 cheaper.![]()
-
how is it cheaper, they have their starting price that is $200 more expensive than other sites
-
-
still all those doesnt add up to 200. DC diamond cost like $10. also i am talking about like P150em, didnt really check out the other ones. A consumer doesnt really care if they build on their own or from sager. i'd say consumer might like it more if its from sager
-
idk just taught id say the good things as to not go all negative about them xD they also seem to have very friendly ppl who would help other who also aren't their customers
-
-
The starting price is more expensive also because of the automatic upgrade to a 128 GB SSD and Killer Wireless + Bluetooth. Also I don't believe they include the 3% discount they offer in the listed price like other sites do (could be wrong on this.
-
Add Free Windows 8 upgrade, custom AMD drivers.
They have good stuff going on -
-
i compared with taking windows OS out (my university offers every OS from xp and up for free). and also i dont think it includes a SSD drive
edit: Also, they only offer 4GB of RAM while the standard for other sites offer 8. I compared without OS, with 7970 with prostar/xoticpc, mythologic is over 200 more expensive. end comsumers dont care who built it, as long as it works and doesnt break. not sure why they are still in business. not to mention prostar and xoticpc offers free shipping, with prostar offering free to canada as well -
-
after 3% discount, the p150 with 7970m is still at 1680ish, with pro-star, 1680 covers both shipping and taxes in canada, while for mythlogic, its 1680 before tax and shipping and brokerage
-
The Back to school 1612 pollux has 8GB, 128GB SSD and AMD 7970 as stock with NVIDIA 680 as option
For $1630. -
@Kiol -- I don't see an option for the 680m and the BTS deal does not include Windows OS...
Do Mythlogic's custom AMD drivers and bios fix the 7970m enduro issues I am reading about on these forums? -
And 680m's are going up for BTS this evening. -
Hmm where did you see the back to school offer? I searched their web but didn't see it :/
Edit:Ahh I saw the link from myth's siggy, but how do you access it through myth's website? -
Click on "Back to school specials" by the mobile area in the top menu
-
Also 680m's are up on the BTS configurators =)
-
Thanks. Any BTS deals on the Pollux 1512?
-
you guys might wanna think about placing the bts offer on the homepage and on the mobile page. The only way to access it is to scroll the mouse over the mobile, and i gotta say its pretty easy to miss that link :/

How long are these back to school specials going to be on for? I can not purchase until the last week in September, very first week of October at the very latest due to funds being available from school at that time. (Grant/loan disbursement check!) Please tell me I will not miss this!?!? I want to order from Mythlogic! Unlike those who dont seem to see the value - I sure do!!!!!
-
I'm not headed to school but my completed system sitting at Mythlogic ready to ship is about $200 bucks cheaper if ordered today ...
Oh well thats the way my ball seems to bounce, I'm sure I'll still love it ... -

Got mine from myth just a week or two ago. I'm affraid to look to see what I could have saved if I had waited. And as for the comments about the end user not caring who builds their laptops.. you must be on crack. I for one care ALOT about who builds mine, it is why i went with Myth in the first place. Specially seeing all these posts from people having issues with their 7970's built by other resellers. (try to find one myth user with serious problems). As for my laptop,it is running like a dream. No utilization problems with BF3 and it is running every game I throw at it smoothly. Just like most products out there, sometimes you pay a premium for what I think is a better quality product.
-
-
DoH!, i wanted to order from Myth, but I was going over my budget and had to order from somewhere else. Only if I could have waited a bit longer.

Have been lurking these forums for a long time. First post.
I ordered mine today. With the BTS promo and 3% military discount, I wound up paying just a hair over what the same system would have cost from other Sager resellers.
What sold me was the customer service. The fact that Mythlogic is NOT a reseller. All work is done in-house, and I will never have to play the "Mail it to you so you can mail it to someone else so they can mail it to you so you can mail it back to me" game. Chat help was on-point and I was given honest answers about whether I truly needed certain upgrades... This saved me several hundred dollars in itself. E-mail responses were lightning fast even after business hours, the Phoenix Upgrade Plan alone makes it worth the extra few bucks if you plan on keeping the system more than a few years. They are painting my lid w/ automotive paint for $10 more than it would have cost for a vinyl skin from elsewhere.
So yeah... To the person who said that consumers don't care if it is a builder or a reseller: You, sir, are wrong!
Specs will be: 3610QM, Calibrated 72% Matte Screen, 7970M, 8gb 1600, Crucial 128gb SSD + 750gb HDD, Killer 1202 w/ Bluetooth, Lid Paint: Pearl White w/ Myth Gargoyle -
OMG I have just paid for my system and didn't get that offer!! it is 10% cheaper now! Someone from Myth please...

Awesome sauce BTS sale until end of August is exactly when I intended to buy.
However in building my system in both standard and BTS, I noticed this:
Intel Core i7-3720QM 2.6GHz, 6M L3 Cache, 22nm, DDR3-1600MHz, Quad-Core Processor BTS Special +$125.00
vs normal build:
Intel Core i7-3720QM 2.6GHz, 6M L3 Cache, 22nm, DDR3-1600MHz, Quad-Core Mobile Processor +$45.92
Is this a price typo? It means you erase $80 in savings by paying nearly triple for the CPU upgrade? That's a special?
Also it appears windows 7 is 8 bucks more on the BTS special, for my normal build its -88.00 with no OS and -95.66 with BTS, again the special price is more?
Also noticed -$66 difference between 675 and 7970 on normal build, but -$125 difference with BTS build, almost seems despite advertised as on sale, I am paying more for the 7970 with the BTS sale? Also BTS sale has smaller delta between 7970 and 680, so its the Nvidia on sale not AMD?
Over all its a savings of about $103 on the build with BTS, $134 if I take %1 discount. This includes 3yrs Canada warranty and 2xAC adapters.
Seems hard to match:
Nyx | 17" Exalted Mobile Gaming
Save more than $175 on the total package choose from either the AMD 7970m OR the nVIDIA 675m for extra savings. Also comes with the Killer Wireless N 1202 and a Free Slappa Laptop Sleeve with strap OR an additional 1% off: Nyx 1712 - BTS -
You are assuming that everything is equal when it comes to pricing on certain things. Trust us you aren't paying "more" for anything in the BTS sale, we've just discounted some items and that messes with the deltas
-
but you arent paying less either, so whats the point of the "sale"? why not just price reasonably to start with? also it seems like you are forcing a SSD on to buyers who may not want one -
We did get a special deal on a bunch of those parts to support the BTS sale, hence why we are able to offer cheaper prices on certain items, also hence why we have certain configurations =) Trust us if it was forever and permanent then we would of course adjust the prices for everyone.
thanks! -
Okay guys in defense of Myth my experience is, I had a pre order that was more expensive than what I paid because they lowered their prices, than they came up with the BTS offer and they updated my price again refunding the difference. Every time they were very supportive and very honest. From my original pre order it was almost 600 bucks less, mind that I changed the hard drive a 210 difference out of the BTS, so in the end I still saved 400 bucks. If you consider they build support develop update their systems plus superb costumer service I would say go with them. The "on smart nerd" that took care of my entire process is Eric and I am very satisfied with his service
-
Well, Mythlogic, you officially have my attention.
It's a shame that it's the 3720QM instead of the 3820QM, but I think 100MHz is a reasonable sacrifice given the great prices, in-house construction, customization options, and reputation. -
I didn't pay much attention of individual components prices when placing my order.
All I know is that for the exact same builds, the BTS one came down to about $200 less and + a free carrying case. -
Not trying to be ajerk, but trying to maximize my savings. Sager is not a cheap laptop, so every dollar counts! -
Maybe they just do not know just how awesome they are. -
The Crucial M4 is not the fastest drive, but its not a sandforce, and its proven stable and rock solid, making it a great buy for anyone.
Looking that the BTS build, Drive 1 128GB M4 boot and 512GB M4 games, and Ill toss one of my 7200rpm 500GB seagate drives for drive 3. I am getting ansy, but just a few more pay cheques to save the cash, 3k for a lappy isn't just sitting around. -
Hey,
No worries at all, we totally understand having to save up the $$$ to make it all go and we look forward to building your laptop -
I do have a few questions I will ask here since maybe others can benefit.
What keyboard do you get with chicklet upgrade, and do you get the Sager default in the box in case you like it better? Keyboards are a fickle upgrade and very personal in taste.
do you guys have a gallery of lid painting? Be cool to see some of the work done, I am on the fence on such an idea.
There are a few accessories missing on the BTS page, like HD caddy for optical drive, can they be still purchased?
Oh the matte 72% vs 90% glossy, how bad is the reflections? I am wary of glossy screens, but 90% color is, well frankly would be stunning. I do not know anyone with a Sager/Clevo so just looking for some info.
Thanks for your time. -

How are you guys getting savings of $200 plus?
I compared my BTS sale configuration with the regular priced one and I'm only saving $38
-Matte 72%
-i7 3720QM
-16GB 1600MHz
-680M
-Crucial 256GB M4
-Windows 7 Home
BTS sale- $2536.61
Regular- $2574.40
What I'm I missing !? -
i guess on some configuration you save more, on some you save none. if they are actually sincere about their discount, why dont they just give a $200 off all normal configurations for say, purchase over 1500 or something? -
They have different profit margins on different parts. Thats why some items are going to be discounted while others aren't so much. Which also means that if they offered a straight $200 discount off all laptops, they wouldn't clear enough profit on some configurations.
And something not being on their config page doesn't mean you can't get it.. Talk to them and chances are they'll get it. I talked to them about put a slot loading drive in my laptop lol. It would've been imported and outrageously priced, but thy offered to do it.. -
What is the big difference between Mythlogic and a Sager reseller like Xoticpc except that Myth builds the machines themselves?
Is there a better warranty with Myth?
I'm ready to place my order for a clevo but cant figure out who to buy it from and why myth charges a few hundred dollars more then others... -
i am guessing because of the labour or the warranty they provide, but i really have no idea. if you want reseller warranty, sites like xoticpc or reflex (canada ) have it as an option
