I recently purchased a used Mythlogic Phobos 8715S (Clevo P870DM-G), it was working okay for 3 weeks and suddenly yesterday the screen started going black during games, the sound was still working and the game was still running fine, I suspected the GPU immediately and this evening the screen only showed one white line I believe the GPU is completely dead
You can see in this video that during boot up the keyboard LED changes colors, it means that Windows boots okay, I can also do CTRL ALT DEL and choose shutdown by pressing tab 8 times, I can even turn on/off the screen using the Fn key and change the fan speed as well using Fn+1, so RAM and CPU seem to be OK, only the GPU is dead, hopefully mythlogic RMA is good
I have contacted myth support earlier today but have not received any response yet

If any of you knows the handle of mythlogic representative here please let me know so I can message him directly, thanks

First step would be to try and connect an external display, if that also doesnt work or there is no response then it might as well be GPU failure.
But if an external display works, then it might be something as simple as the eDP cable being loose.

This is good advice. It would be good to give this to the Myth rep, also; might save them troubleshooting time and expedite the RMA a bit.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that tonight before sending the laptop back to myth
Update, I connected the laptop to my TV through HDMI, nothing showed and I pressed the Fn+F7 and enter multiple times , don't know if that was the right thing to do since I can't see anything

That's what I've got so far, they seem to be very slow in responding to anything even if you call them

Any news on your RMA status so far? I'd like to hear how it goes since I have an order for a new laptop that is currently being processed. I'd like to know what to expect if there are any problems with mine. Please keep us posted. Thanks.

The general feeling is that things are very slow with myth, you can see my other thread where I track the progress, so far it's been 32 days since RMA request and they're still confirming the root cause, to be fair to them it was delayed 2 days because of thanksgiving

Personally I honestly feel quite frustrated as I have to always PM mythlogic rep here to get an update/progress, the initial inertia was big, it was very slow to get the ball rolling even after I called them, it was only after contacting myth rep here that things move more smoothly

It took them almost 3 weeks now just to confirm what the problem is and they're still confirming it some more, they said that since it takes 6-8 hours to reproduce the problem, it's taken them many days to find the failing component but I personally feel that they need some kind of policy where finding a root cause should not exceed a certain amount of maximum time, well, it's just been frustrating not having your laptop for an extended amount of time
