    Hi all,

I've owned my Pro-Star N850HP6 (which I still love!) for now a year and a half, about 4 months into ownership, the case started to separate at the hinge, and after one day, started to develop a crack, which has progressed.

Images of cracked case here: https://imgur.com/a/AvZTrmV

Does anyone have a teardown guide or video to follow along to in order to remove the top portion of the case and replace it with a new top case? I've ordered the top case from RJTech.

    Thanks all in advance!

    Hey ATXG3,

I'm sorry to see that! Probably a screw mount for the left hinge broke off. :(

Unfortunately I don't have access to a teardown guide, but I can tell you that pretty much everything is mounted to - and cables routed through - that top case assembly. You're going to have to remove a lot of screws and components to replace it; motherboard, daughter boards, keyboard, speakers, etc.

Don't forget to remove and transfer the touchpad board if your replacement case doesn't have one already!

Take pictures prior to gutting things and as you go along if you don't find a guide anywhere. It will help with reassembling things.
