This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Im interested in the purchasing the new W650SZ. I see XoticPC and Pro-Star has banners stating NBR members have special discounts/offers. Anybody know what those are, I can't seem to find anything about them currently?

    I don't think either of them actually have specials like that anymore. Last time I asked XoticPC, they said that they no longer offer it because they had to price their latest machines so competitively already.

    Besides, those discounts were for ACTIVE NBR members (Some even said 100+ posts). Just knowing about a community shouldn't entitle you to their benefits.

    I miss those. I was able to get a discount on my international shipping for my D900F back when I got it through XoticPC. I could really do with that for my next system XD.

    I've seen this advertised on a few of the reseller websites as well. I would look into it if I were you, it can't hurt. I'm not sure but I think they'd remove anything promoting that special from the website if it were no longer offered.

    If you look into it further or call, there's not much they can do. Doing upgrades, especially ones serviced by the company, and then asking for discounts against THOSE is really the best way to do it, I think. At the very least, I've been refused NBR discounts by XoticPC and Mythlogic.
