NEWEST BIOS/FIRMWARE FOR M570RU-U (Sager NP5793)

Hello! I have resently purchased a used M570RU-U .
And I am about to update its bios and fan/keyboard firmware.
Which are the newest ? Does the newest firmware allow you to manualy contol the fans? (fn+F1)? I would grately appreciate directlink to download!

and ofcourse the 8800M GTX bios. Which is the newest? and again where to grab it ?

To flash these files, create a bootable usb stick (as per guide in my sig), copy the extracted files to it, then run (in dos) updateec.bat, then refresh.bat, then update.bat IN THAT ORDER

There is a copy of phlash16 in both the ec and bios zip files, they are the same, so you only need one of them if all files are put in the same folder.

 

I was also interested in these BIOS's, but I cant seem to access them through these links..
The ftp is very slow and shows as empty when I try to access (?)

Can you confirm that the fans can be controled manualy with the fan/kb-firmware? more quiet than previous versons ?

 

my fan controls (fn+1 & fn+3) still work with this bios/firmware

 

After I updated KBC/EC 1.00.09 and BIOS 1.00.11 my fn+1 and fn+3 does not work.

 

try to now reflash the keyboard .09 and did you do the bios first or the keyboard firmware??

 

first was kb, second bios.
so as third I can try again kb update

 

Yeah, same for me. First kb, then bios and fn+1/3 no longer work.

 

Which version of the KBC/EC were you running before the flash?

My fn+1/3 both still work on 1.00.09/1.00.11

 

I was using 1.00.07SH (or something similar to that, whichever version was released before 1.00.09) and 1.00.08 bios.

Could anyone link me to the old bios downloads?

If you want older ones, I can get them, but I wouldn't recommend it.

 

you should be using NO OLDER than .08 for the bios and .07sh for the keyboard.. or newer

 

Hence me not recommending older ones

In general I can see no reason not to use the newest ones, but some people seem to be losing the fan control hotkeys (though they still work for me )

 

I did all updates again --> no luck :-(
1) KB .09 + restart (Off/On)
2) BIOS .11 + restart (Off/On)
3) GPU .14 + restart (Off/On)
Fn+1;Fn+3 gone

(before tried go back with kb .08 and bios .08 -> the same result)

 

Cheers for the old bios Now is there anywhere i can see the change list for both the fan bios and system bios?

EDIT: I also went back to old bios, with same result. jromph: what spec is your laptop?
Also is there a link for the .07sh bios? The one you have is only for 07 and I remember it showing .07sh in the bootup screen.

 

I think u will only get that Fn+1;Fn+3 with 1.00.09 S KBC from Sager, not from original Clevo.....

Tried to flash the EC firmware with phlash16 and got an error message :" cannot flash if memory managers (eg. HIMEM) present. " Googled it still no luck with figuring out how to fix this, any ideas?

BTW, i have flashed many bios without this error message.

 

there is a switch to ignore that, did the firmware not come with a .bat file to run it?

Here is the command to flash the original clevo 1.00.09 KBC/EC. I would assume the sager version is the same command, just change the filename to whatever the sager version is called:

Phlash16 /x /mode=3 /s ECM57RU.09

 

The firmware is in .iso formart, maybe this is why, I wish it was not, but in seperate files instead. Anyone have the files NOT in .iso format? i really don't want to make a bootable cd just for this.

 

I only have the original clevo version in files format

 

1) use isobuster to extract .ima file from iso and then u can use ultraiso to extract files from ima
2) copy kbc09s.bat, PHLASH16.exe, ecm57ru.09s to bootable USB or diskette
3) use kbc09s.bat from booted media

 

Hello again! Checking the Clevo Bios website, I noticed a new KBC/EC firmware :

EC firmware 1.00.10.

fix:

When system working temperature reaches fan on point but the system cant receive normal fan speed information, it will alarm for one minute then shut down.

Has anyone installed thisone ? Do you know if the fans still can be controlled manualy ?

This has been out for quite a while now (well, 2 weeks anyway).

It does not have the fn+1/3 fan controls.

When would you expect these newer firmwares to be released by Sager with the fan controls ? And the 1.00.11 just like the 1.00.10 from Clevo doesn't have fan controls, right ?

 

I wouldn't expect sager to release any newer KBC's for an obsolete model.

I have a question about these bios updates, I've had a look at the bios versions on my new laptop;

In the bios screen it says 1.00.12SL
in everest I found this M570RU-1.00.07 (is this the EC bios version?)
vga bios 62.92.19.00.A3

Do I have the latest system bios? and is the 8800m gtx bios mentioned a few pages back newer than what I have?

 

I think your bios is the last one!? I have the same bios . My firmware nr is 1.00.11sa and fancontrol works good.

Id still like to know how to identify the correct bios versions in my system, other than looking in the bios how do you find out what the system & ec bios versions are and how do you know which is which?

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and I have a clevo m570ru for about a year and half but it never had fan control

My bios revision is 1.00.12 and my KBC/EC Firmware Revision is 1.00.10.

Could anyone give me hints of the best KBC or bios version with fan controls and where i can get them (i'm from Portugal and the reseller of clevo here , called Insys, was the one to update my bios and KBC so i guess they don't have bios with fan control)?

When I returned my Sager 5793 for repairs to Sager because I had a blank video screen, they fixed the problem and returned it with a bios updated to .13.

What the .13 bios changes, I have no idea as their was no change information listed on the service sheet just the work performed. Perhaps, you can get the .13 bios from Sager if you want to get the latest version for the NP5793.
