Edit:
@JackBauer: Saw you had a buyer for your Sager on ebay. Congrats, even though you had second thoughts.

Can't wait to get mine, my post got moved here so please check it out on the sager forum.
Thanks -
I have the WSXGA+ Resolution and I like it so far.
Never had or seen a WUXGA+ so not sure on how that is.
I use my 5760 mostly for gaming so the WSXGA+ is good enough for me.
(Besides the WUXGA+ Resolution will lower its performance just a tad, I think)
I would get the 100gb 7200rpm HDD.
I have it and I already used 30GB of space.
From what I read, the 7200rpm is generally better.
It should load things faster and producses about the same heat and noise as the 5400rpm.
(Theres a thread in this website about Pros and Cons of 5400rpm vs 7200rpm I just do not have the link atm)
As for Bluetooth.
If you use any Bluetooth devices and wish to use it with your laptop, then I do not see why not.
If you do not have any Bluetooth devices, then I suggest don't bother.
You can easily buy the module later on and I heard its not hard to install.
I have the Bluetooth module now and wish I didn't get iut as I think the earliest I will have any Bluetooth device is 3-6mths from now.
For me, what I would do is just upgrade the HDD to a 100gb 7200rpm.
But tahts just my personal preference.
Before I reformatted my desktop I had 75GB of HDD space used and I can see my laptop to need an external HDD one day. -
Ok i might do that with the bigger HD, i am ordering a XPS desktop soon with a 320 gig HD so i was planning on trying to keep the laptop pretty clean.
But its something that would be worth doing now. I am not sure on the 7200 vs the 5400 though, pretty much only thing i am unsure of.
Are the WSXGA+ back in stock? Hope i can get this laptop as soon as possible my house go broke into on memorial day weekend, and using a friends older slower laptop is killing me, but its way better then nothing =).
Whats the free carrying case look like that you get? Anyone have a picture?
Thanks -

Take a look at this thread for 5400RPM vs. 7200RPM:

The hard drive is the slowest component in a computer, so any increase in speed will be noticable. -

Sager 5760 Review -
**** Puro got delayed for whatever reason and my laptop couldn't leave the distro center. Sucks! I'll see if I get go there to pick it up. A chance it's not too far from work.
@Kilim!
Thanks for this nice review! So eager to get mine! -
Hey, I'm also from montreal and ordered an m570u divine from eurocom. I got it last tuesday, but had to rma it yesterday because I couldn't get the flash card reader to work. It was pretty sweet while it lasted. Hope I get it back soon. Kind of a pissoff though to pay that much money and have to deal with this now.
I also had Alen and he was very good to deal with. I'll let you know whether the after sales service is as good. -
does sager 5760 have quickplay (to fire up dvd without turning on computer)? Does this notebook come with some sort of DVD movie program such as windvd? Or if I buy windows media center OS will I be able to play dvd movies without a separte program such as windvd? Lastly, how do u adjust volume on 5760? thanks
-
alright, question, i see from most of the notebook resellers that the default cheatest CPU is the 1.66 for the 5760, and if i wanted to upgrade to 2.0 or 2.16 it would be an extra $100 and $235 respectively. So my question is, should i just go with the default and wait for merom, and upgrade then or should i just go with a 2.0 and 2.16 and forget about upgrading to merom anytime soon. Any speculations on the prices of merom with different speeds. The thing is i need a laptop by august latest, and we wont see merom till next year probably feb or march from what i have read. Um kinda undecided right now, please have some input, iam stretching my budget limit right now with the 5760 upgraded, about $2700.

I even called up Sager today and they said they arent getting any of the 256mb 7900gtx's anymore which is what I ordered so this is crazy. So far sager is not doing so well with me, and I havent even gotten the notebook yet. -

He didn't order a Sager laptop, and I am not sure he ordered a WSXGA+ screen...did he?

The trick with buying Intel processors of any version is to buy the 3rd one from the bottom (the 2.0GHz at this time) and you will have the "sweet spot". Once you go to the 4th or 5th from the bottom you are paying too much for what you get. The Merom pricing will be the same as the Yonah pricing once it is released. -
I belive I noted this in my review that just got posted in this website and can be found linked in my sig.
So you do not need to get XP MCE just so you can play DVD in your 5760, you should be able to use either Windows Media Player, WinDVD or NeroShowtime that comes with the package.
You adjusts the volume on the 5760 by either the sound icon in the system tray bar found at the lower right side of your desktop.
Or you use the FN+F5 key to turn the sound down and FN+F6 key to turn the sound up. -
2 different companies that is selling the same model.
PowerNoteBooks gets their M570U from Sager and it is then called the Sager 5760.
Maybe Eurocom somehow had more of the parts in stock still than Sager did? -
Thanks for your reply. So there isn't a volume dial or button on the exterior surface of the computer? By the way, is there a wifi on/off button on the computer? thank you.

Thanks for the FKeys!!! Why the heck didn't they glued stickers for the keys that don't have them??
Mmmm, not sure I notice a difference in the fan toggle.
@Invulse
Yeah I ordered from Eurocom and they had plenty in stock. I got the biggest rez screen WUXGA I think (1920x1200).
Anyway I hope you'll get yours soon. Try to get a 512mb for free? -
so the arrival date of the 512mb cards is set for july 5th, they haven't announced any delays that I can see... about how long after that can we expect orders to ship? just wondering if we'll get the 512MB 5760s this week possibly
-
"So far, I haven't heard any news that the 512MB card will be postponed; therefore, I believe it's on schedule. However the estimated ship out date will be 2 to 4 business days after the cards have arrived due to the burning and testing period." -

Wally, do you realize that if you buy from a Sager dealer instead of Sager directly that you will pay less, and probably get better service after the sale? -
Well I am finally joining the club (well sort of, its a M570U
). Its arriving tomorrow.
The 512 meg 7900XT card was delayed so they (Australian company,ITC) offered to install the 256 card for now and swap the card at their cost when it arrives. -
Anybody having any troubles with the following:
-light leak from the bottom (not sure if it's normal but didn't notice on the one I RMAd)
-wireless and bluetooth conking out for no apparent reason (and not coming back on)
-monitor won't wake up from standby
Or just me? -
