I recently updated my NP 8170 to Windows 10, I have had very few issues, nothing major. Currently my fingerprint reader and my keyboard lights not working are my biggest issues. I've been searching for drivers but there are no windows 10 drivers posted for the NP8170. Any ideas?

I may have gotten the numbers mixed up, I bought it nearly 3 or so years ago, I believe it was the NP8170. Anyways, the model number in dxdiage is P170EM if that clears things up.

aaah, that makes more sense, yep :) the keyboard backlight is controlled by the EC and the hotkey app. make sure u have both the most current system bios, EC and hotkey app installed. maybe that will help!

PS: P170EM corresponds to the NP9170 ;) just for future reference...

edit: you can get the newest bios and EC versions here (P170EM): https://biosmods.wordpress.com/stock/

u can also flash the premamod version of those for extra functionality and the ability to upgrade your GPU to the latest 900M series by Nvidia :) link: https://biosmods.wordpress.com/p170em/

just make sure to read the flash instructions! link: https://biosmods.wordpress.com/flashing-guide/

    hello

I have been waiting for months for the windows 10 to download and install itself, but its still on hold for my P150EM. How can I upgrade to windows 10? and more important will my notebook work normally after upgrading?
Anyone has any experience with this?
I post here becasu p170EM is the big brother of p150 so i figure its about the same.

    cheers

u can just download a win10 iso online and either burn it onto a dvd or use a usb stick to manually install it / upgrade :)
