doesn't look especially potent, but each to his own. i'm very happy with my Zalman NC2000, as are many others.

you should not worry to buy online, especially if you are getting it from a reputable online store or vendor.

I actually got my Zalman ZM-NC2000 locally since the online store was literally down the street.

I just contacted them to pay for it online with shipping, then they refunded the shipping costs if I picked it up in person. :)

That Targus is very cheap... under par IMO.

A cooler is best if the airflow is directed to the notebook's fans and vents.

If the the fan(s) line up to a notebooks bottom fans, then it would be OK.

Yes, especially if it's unopened. I think you can return it for 30 days (definitely 15 days, but likely 30 days).

yeah you can return the cooler to bestbuy, just have the receipt.

At least, you could in Canada.

And I bought the exact same cooler cause I figured any was better than none and I didn't have the option of buying one online. (I was leaving the country and shipping would make it ridiculous to where I live now) - correction I bought a Targus cooler, it's not big enough for my laptop but it does Ok. every store I asked about coolers were like "yeah we have one" and they'd show me some retarded placemat that was supposed to remove heat or some junk cooler to attach to the back of my laptop. I was forced into buying this piece of sh*t for my m860.

It works a bit, nothing stunning.

In fact my HD is hot as hell right now from hours of studying. I'll turn it on for a bit and see if it drops the HD temp. currently 58.
    ...
5 minutes of running my mini targus thing and it's at 56. not bad.
    ...
another five minutes and I'm down to 52.

I guess you have to also consider that my HDD rarely tops 53ish. I don't know why it would peak at 58 like that randomly, I haven't done anything weird beyond surfing and flipping through a ppt file in the last couple hours.

That's about exactly what mine normally runs at (without cooler), after about, oh, 90min+ at a room temp of mid 70s (F).
