I own a Sager NP 9170m with an AMD 7970m. I have had heating issues for a long time and have cleaned the laptop fans, heat sink and also re pasted. But I still find my PC down clocking frequently because of rising temps. The temps in game reach 100C. I noticed that my fans are not running at full speed. They do pick up when the temps go above 90C though. There seems to be a BIOS mod to control fans but I wonder if there are other ways for the same. I am also not sure if the fans are the problem to begin with.

Secondly my wifi adapter disappeared recently and have been unable to install it since then. Trying to install it also does nothing. I have attached the screen shots for the same. Any help would be welcome.

You can control fans with Hwinfo 64 I believe.. Try doing that and manually set the fans to run at a high rpm using the fan control software in it..

Thanks for replying. I have sorted out all the remaining issues and the heating problem seems to be the only one. I shall try the software you mentioned and get back.

You might also want to repaste your CPU with some good IC Diamond thermal paste/Gelid GC Extreme paste and also repaste and repad your GPU... Use Phobya XT pads and you'll be sorted..
