    Hey guys!
I searched on this topic and did not find anything, so I figured I would post a new topic regarding this.

I am somewhat of an audiophile, and as such I purchased a real nice set of 5.1 surround headphones for my desktop system about six (6) months ago. They need to be connected to three specific outputs in order to work, not just a headphone out jack.

My question is... without having to get a X-FI Soundblaster standalone card + a 5.1 connect module for the card again (*sigh*), is there any way to connect my 5.1 surround headphones to the existing audio jacks on the NP9262? I know there are some laptops that have software built in that allows you to set what the jacks would be used for, but I have not found any info during my search.

Thanks in advance, you guys rock!
    Erlend

Ok, I am an idiot. I am old enough to admit it.

I am going to get a 9262 soon. Purpose is for gaming. I do some word processing and surfing, but honestly it is a toy.

I've read the earphone jack broke on a couple of machines. The solution was getting a sound card that actually upgrades the sound quality.

My question {sorry for hijacking} is if I have this problem, will my current headphones plug into the new sound card or would I need new headphones?

haha Gophn, I need to start coming up with harder questions it seems :). You have been such a great help to me! :)

So I can reconfigure the front ports with software that already comes with the machine? Perfect!! Cant wait untill I get the maching. I will be sure to write a review in order to attempt to give something back to the community.

Gophn... once again... You da man ;)

your current headphones should work fine.
