Just got my new NP 9285. Here are some benchmarks. Any comments or advice would be appreciated. Does everything look normal here ?? Any ways to improve?

    Thank you

Would have been better if you had made the CPUID larger so that we could see everything ...
Is that a Quadro FX3800? In that case, the 3dMark Vantage score seems very good, better than my GTX 280M - and the temperatures of the cpu is very nice too, if you had the CPUiD running while using 3dMark.

I would be interested in the GPU temperature as well. A Quadro FX 3800 is a rare sight - it would be great to know how that 100W TDP GPU is handled by your laptop. If not limited by driver support it should actually perform better than the MR HD 5870 at stock clocks.

What's the max temp you get with your Quadro FX3800M? Can you please run a very GPU intensive program and report back, if you don't mind.

Is that a control panel thing? Sorry this is my first laptop.

I can run maya with some fluid sims or CAD data. Is there a certain amount of time I need to run it for? Also do I need to be actively using the program?

I think as long as you can hear the fan go full blown, then it should be enough to get max temp. The HWMonitor will record this temp.

Thanks for the info on the power management made a big difference. Here are some results while running Maya with a pretty big fluid sim(7 mil polys). Fan was definitely cranking.

Quadro FX 3800 and core i7 980x, man, how much did you spend on this computer ?
    Can you run a 3dmark 2006 ?
Do you have 12gb of ram ? What are the other specs of the laptop ? Hdd, optical unit etc...

Your temperatures looks good so far, ruddiger52 - but I notice your hardisk temps, they are quite high. I experienced similar hdd temps in my D900F, when I had it in the space in the centre (where 2 hdd are situated together, right under the touchpad). When I got a SSD, I moved the hdd to the place under the battery - it is much cooler there, for some reason, and the SSD, that now sits in the centre, is not particularly affected by high temperatures.
Also, I think the hdd temp will benefit from a cooling pad, like the Zalman NC2000 - because I notice the palm rests and especially the touchpad feels much cooler with my Zalman running. I don't have a temp sensor on the SSD, so I can't tell you this for certain.

Complete specs below. The only things I upgraded were the proc and graphics card. Im planning on upgrading the ram. Can anyone recommend some?

Thanks for the advice on the cooling pad. Are those things loud? Maybe In the future I will try moving the HDs

one thing you don't have to worry about clevo-sager is no problems relative to hardware maybe don't looks as nice like an Alienware but it won't give you headaches all the time

No, the Zalman is not loud on the lowest setting - which is sufficient. It makes approximately the same noise level as the laptop's own fans when idle.
