I read somewhere that the NP-5320 has the ability to play CDs without booting the OS (forget where)... I was wondering if it also had the ability to play DVDs without the OS?

I had basically fallen in love with the ASUS Z70VA, but now I'm really considering the NP-5320 (whether I get it from Sager or as a Clevo whitebook remains to be seen). The cd (hopefully dvd) playback is huge plus in my book, and I don't think the Z70Va has that.

Anyway, I'm rambling now. Thanks for the info, guys!

    Sorry if I missed this thread . . here's a reply (a little late).

You can play CD's using the front panel DJ, however, DVD's you cannot.

Check out my Sager NP-5320 review, it might help you in your buying decision ;) :

jleyba, which one did you up buying? How do you like it? I'm trying to make the exact same decision.
