    Hi all,
I recently received my Sager NP 2090 and LOVE it. I was wondering though about the batetry life since this is my first laptop. My wife and I were using the wirless and surfing the web for about 2 hours before the battery conked out, and about 90 minutes while watching a movie. Is this about right? Are there ways to extend the charge on it?

    Thanks

Did you get the 6 cell battery?

I got the 9 cell. I am not sure if there are settings I need to change or not.

With basic web browsing with WiFi on, I can easily get about 3.5 hours. Do you have it set to power saver mode? When I first started Windows up, it was set to, I think, High performance in which I was getting about 2.5 hours of batery life. To change it, just click on the little battery icon in the bottom right corner of you screen and set it to power saver, or you can do this through the control panel. As for watching movies, I haven't attempted to watch a movie off a DVD, but I'd estimate with the the DVD drive running, screen's brightness up, you could get a bit over two hours. I'm not completely sure, as movie watching is the only battery test I have not run.

To enable CPU power saving features you need to have it at least as Portable/Laptop. Max performance will run CPU at max. You can also check if NVidia Powermizer is running....get NVidia Monitor and check frecuencies when 3D is not needed...frecuencies should go down and only use the 475/400 when gaming or so.

I haven't tried a movie with mine yet either, but I will echo what Azone said in that I get at least 3.5 or 4 hours with basic usage and Wi-Fi on. I have a 9 cell battery and WSXGA+ screen. Definitely take a look at your power settings if you aren't achieving that.

If I needed more I could easily get it by tuning some more things down as well. Also, I never under-volted my laptop which many posters here will suggest as a power-saving (and thus reduced heat) option.

I'm only getting 3 hours with no usage, aero and sidebar disabled, wifi on, powersaver, and the screen always on.

    Shouldn't I be getting more?
