I just got my 2090 today and my excitement about it has been curbed by incessant issues with first installing Windows and now my display drivers (I think).

My Windows Home SP1 CD returned a PCI.SYS error, so I made a Slipstreamed SP2 CD, which installed fine. However, now my screen is flickery and distorted. The problem appears spontaneously, especially when I apply pressure to the back of the screen (the lid).

I've installed all the relevant drivers on the provided CD. I downloaded Nvidia's 8-series drivers and the 101.42 from LaptopVideo2Go and both return the following error when I attempt to install:

The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible
with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.

I tried manually installing the driver by going into the device manager and specifying the extracted files from the 101.42 driver. Still, my screen flickers.

It seems to be distorting in circular bands radiating out from the top left corner. Right now, only colored portions of window titlebars and the desktop background flicker/appear distorted. I've tried taking screenshots, but when I open up the images on my other computer, they appear normal...

If someone could please provide insight into my problem, it would be greatly appreciated. This is extremely irritating and I'd like to finish setting up Windows ASAP so I can move onto partitioning and installing Ubuntu.

EDIT: I just took a few pictures to give an idea of what the problem looks like.

Imagine that distorted ring crap, along with the entire screen, flashing like 10 times per second.

This one kind of shows pixelation in my start menu:

Sorry for horrible blur, but this one shows distortion of gradients in the shut down prompt:

    Update:
Oh, and I tried running Damn Small Linux from a CD and it didn't work. I couldn't tell exactly from the command line stuff, but the penguins at the top of the DSL prompt appeared to be outlined in flickering green pixels.

XP wouldn't load in safe mode. It scrolled a bunch of dll's and **** and froze.

Could the problem be with bios? If so, how would I go about updating it?
