So I think it's a good idea for anyone who will be using their 2090 for some gaming to have a list of games that have been tested on this notebook and the settings used. Unfortunately, I do not yet have my 2090, so I'll count on those who do to get this started. So let's see what those of you who are lucky enough to have their 2090's already are playing!

So far, the games I've seen tested on this notebook is: CS:S, Medieval II - Total War, and Supreme Commander.

I like this idea... I am dying for screenshots (with FPS) of games running on the NP2090. I guess I also will grab this spot so I can later "edit" in screenshots of my games with the FPS and settings. Now all I have to do is actually wait for my laptop to come! :(

You have to remember he was running fraps, a program that creates videos of your games, apparently it was a major cause for the slowdown.

Fraps records every frame at a set FPS during your game, writing it to the hard drive as a video (and also encoding it as such). It requires a large amount of memory and utilizes the HDD quite a bit. Things he had working against him in that video:

1GB of memory in general (a game, OS, and recording software at the same time)
    1GB of memory with vista
    He used max settings
He has the 5400rpm HDD instead of the 7200

I opted for 2GB, 7200rpm and will be testing the following games when it arrives:

I'm not going to give a review for each one and how it runs, but just a copy of that list and a quick config that's best for each. Something that's really telling, however, is that my current gaming computer gets a 1600 on 3dmark06 (it's old now :( ), and this laptop has been recorded as getting 3300-3800 (OC'd). That's over twice my current score... I'm pretty excited about seeing what this laptop can do. :)

If the 8600GT can handle source on high settings it should be able to play Insurgency the same way as they are quite similar games graphics-wise.

Some of the more common games used for benchmarks/tests due to their demanding requirements are:

    The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
    Battlefield 2142
    S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
    Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
    Company of Heroes
    Flight Simulator X
    Supreme Commander
    Call of Juarez

The 5400rpm hard drive does not affect actual game performance.. it only affects the load time of a certain map/stage of a game so the hd has no impact in the video from what i know.

Ill try out company of heroes and STALKER when I recieve my laptop.

Fraps was writing the game video to the hard drive during the test/youtube vid. Also, without more than 1gb of memory and windows vista, I'd be willing to bet all of the game files weren't loaded to RAM, causing it to use the pagefile. In his case, he has an extra 1gb of robson turbo memory, but the value of it's effect is very unclear.

I should be getting my laptop either this week(at least shipped) I hope. I'll have the T7100(whatever the 2ghz one is) 3gb of ram, the 256 8600GT, oh and a 5400rpm HDD.

So when I get it, I'll make sure to test Oblivion, FEAR, Company of Heroes, and a few other things. I'm going to be writing a review though too lazy for that. Should be a lot more people getting their notebooks this week and nextweek from what it looks like as well.

I think you mean the T7300, and I think you mean the 512 8600GT, unless you got the Compal IFL90 (instead of the Sager np2090)with the WXGA screen. Did you get vista?

I don't think any testing is required to figure that WoW will run well on the 2090. ;)

What exactly is going on in this thread? I know it's for seeing how well games run on the NP2090 but so far I've seen no FPS readings or anything like that. I know I sound a bit harsh, but this thread is not very useful to anyone right now. Please, make sure you post relevant information in this topic or I'll have to close it. The Sager forum has become a very active forum in the last few weeks and I'd like to have as much information as possible in here.
