Prior to this I had a problem in which the computer turned on for 1-2 seconds with no system fan and then just turned off by itself. I have found out the cause was the capacitors of the battery were over charged and is fine after I discharged it... However even though the system will actually show a blue light now and the system fan does turn on during the first 1-2 seconds of boot up, there is absolutely no display(or backlight) and the computer does not turn off even if I hold down the power button. What is the cause of this?

I tried replacing the ram with a set of 2GB SODIMMs that I had from when I first ordered the laptop. However there is no change in the condition it is in at the moment. Any tips would be great thank you.

    Thanks,

Based on what you've said, I would say the problem is a fried motherboard, or possibly a fried GPU.
