I'm curious if any other NP2096 owners have encountered this, or if anyone knows the cause.

Basically, my webcam (the built-in one) won't capture images faster than 5 FPS, no matter what I try to set the recording framerate to. It looks nothing like it did in Sphinx's video; every movement turns into a blurry mess.

EDIT: I should add that I've experienced this same issue in both Debut and Meeting Secretary.

My NP2096 integrated webcam is doing the same thing. 5 frames at the max. I don't know if it needs drivers or what. I need to get this fixed because I plan on using Skype video chat a lot when I go overseas soon.

most integrated notebook cams are average... at best.

they usually get a low framerate at high resolutions, and better framerates at lower resolutions.

I would recommend to test the web cam on its own software first to see if you can customize the settings to get the better framerate.

    ... or get a $15 Logitech Quick Cam ;)

The thing is, the NP2096 did not come with any webcam software or anything. No drivers either. How it is even displaying a picture through skype, I have no idea.

look through the Device Manager, it should tell you the device and the drivers being used... even if they are stock Windows ones.

So I would try to update the drivers from the Sager or the manufacturer's site if possible.

Under device manager-> imaging devices it just says "USB 2.0 Camera". I couldn't find anything relevant in any of the other menus.

Sager does not provide any drivers for the webcam on this laptop. I tried some webcam drivers from their older models (NP2090), but no go.

The only bad thing about this laptop I guess.
